As I mentioned in a previous entry, it was reported last May that nearly 70% of Arabs living in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza are in favor of suicide attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers.

Yes, seven in ten of the so-called ‘Palestinians’ are willing to send their own children to their deaths in the name of Jihad. Why? Why are these people willing to sacrifice the lives of their own kin?  The MSM (main stream media) often poses this question, and asserts that because of they are “suffering” in Israel under so-called “occupation,” it is clear that these people are willing to die as ‘martyrs’ out of desperation.

But the 9/11 attacks on America serve as the greatest proof that Israel’s policies or America’s policies in relation to Israel or the Middle East don’t breed terror. When educated middle class Muslims, mostly from Saudi Arabia perpetrate the biggest terror attack in history, it is crystal clear that this isn’t a battle over territory, but a clash of civilizations – a battle between Western democracies  and oppressive Jihadist cult members obsessed with death as the ultimate weapon.

So again, why does this martyrdom-obsessed lifestyle flourish?

There are three primary reasons for this phenomenon – ignorance, propaganda, and downright Anti-Semitism, or a combination of the above.

There are Arabs and Muslims in the world who till this day have never had any contact with a Jew -have never seen or met a real life Jew, all they know, is what their leaders tell them via State controlled media, and they aren’t able or willing to truly explore the matter.

Regarding propaganda, both the Palestinian Authority and Hamas are experts in demonizing the State of Israel and the Jewish People. Official television, radio, newspapers, along with their educational systems, summer camps, and mosque sermons spew hateful rhetoric on a daily basis – so much for fulfilling their responsibilities under Oslo to cease the incitement. In addition, any Iranian who listens to their leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be led to believe that the ‘Zionists’ are the root of all evils. Notice how neither Ahmadinejad nor other Israel haters out there ever refer to Israel as the “State of Israel” only as the “Zionist entity.” Uttering the word “Israel” is too much to ask. With that in mind, how can anyone really believe that the Arab dominated Middle East is willing to live with a Jewish presence in its midst?

Finally we have downright Anti-Semitism. This in itself is most likely a result of the other two phenomena. Usually we are just talking about the hatred of the Jew but in this case its hatred of Jews disguised as hatred of Israel. Some claim that one can disagree with the policies of the State of Israel but still be a friend of the Jews. But it is these same people that hold Israel to a different, higher standard than any other country in the world when it comes to self-defense, human rights, etc. Holding Israel to a different standard is nothing short of Anti-Semitism, but those that do so in striving to feel better about themselves claim to only be ‘anti-Israel’. Nevertheless their blatant hatred of the Jews is transparent. Now if only more people would stop and pay attention.

Despite all this hatred, there are plenty of Arabs out there who might not be Zionists, but without doubt prefer living in Israel than any other country in the region. Out of fear of death, they aren’t the most vocal of groups but their actions or rather inactions speak for themselves. When a few hundred hooligans protested at the Syrian/Golan border and at Kalandia North of Jerusalem last month on the ‘naksa’ or ‘setback’ (see my interview with Minister Benny Begin, on why Israel’s victory in the Six Day War is only a ‘setback’ and not a ‘calamity’ in the eyes of the Arabs as is the establishment of the State in May, 1948) millions of Arabs in Israel stayed home or went to work that day. The reason? They understand that life for Arabs in Israel is better than in any other country in the region. Where else can Arab women, journalists, or Christians truly be free?  Even the so-called ‘occupied Palestinians’ went to work that day, many as builders and contractors in Jewish communities (so-called ‘settlements’), who are constantly discouraged by the PA from actually working for a living if it means taking a check signed by a Jew.

For those who argue that ‘Palestinians’ have it rough with a constant Israeli army presence, all I can think about is the woman in full Arab garb who pulled up next to me at the Gush Etzion (in the ‘West Bank’) gas station last week in her BMW SUV and eased right up to the full-service pump nonetheless, who was attended to by an Arab gas station employee, at this fully integrated place of service (apartheid? Hardly. Don’t fall for that ruse).

As if the Arab World really cares about their pawn ‘Palestinians’ put on the frontlines to hate Israel on their behalf. The Mufti of Lebanon even went so far as to call his ‘Palestinian brothers’ trash, exposing his (and the Arab world’s) true feelings.

I have also been told by friends who lived in Gush Katif before the 2005 expulsion that they get regular calls from their old Arab neighbors begging them to come back. In other words, this group of Arabs preferred living with Jewish neighbors under Israeli control than they do know under the Hamas regime. Go figure. Ironic how before the “peace process” started, Gaza’s Jews roamed freely in Gaza City, building neighborly relationships with the Arabs and only after Oslo, with ‘peace and love’ in the air, was it too dangerous to venture out of the Jewish blocs.

In the end, that number, 70%, of suicide bomber supporters and wannabees, is nothing short of staggering. But despite MSM claims of rabid poverty, rights abuses etc. throughout Israel including Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, the day to day realities prove otherwise.

Why they truly hate? It couldn’t be more obvious.
