SHOCKING: Katy Perry’s Father Says Having Money Makes Jews Jealous

Sometimes controversial remarks have clear malicious intent.

Sometimes they seem to be nothing more then idiotic, coming from a confused or misinformed source.

But sometimes it’s hard to know what the person was thinking, or what the purpose was of the remarks themselves.  The father of international music star Katy Perry, Mr. Keith Hudson, seems to fall under that third category, but it really is hard to tell.

Hudson is an Evangelical preacher, and during a recent service, he seemed to lose track of what it means to be a leader of faithful, religious people.

“You know how to make the Jew jealous? Have some money, honey.”

He continued…

“You go to LA and they own all the Rolex and diamond places. Walk down a part of LA where we live and it is so rich it smells. You ever smell rich? They are all Jews, hallelujah. Amen.”

The Anti-Defamation League released a statement, condemning the remarks:

“Keith Hudson’s unabashedly anti-Semitic remarks to hundreds of worshippers in Ohio about Jews and money are a reminder that the age-old stereotypes are alive and well and continue to bubble up to the surface in many segments of society.  We have seen it previously manifested in pop culture and in religious and political spheres”.

They added: “Katy Perry is blameless for her parents’ behavior, and it is unfortunate that her good name is now attached to her father’s words”.

The Blaze contacted Mr. Hudson in an exclusive interview, where he shed light on his remarks:

“I’m not anti-Semitic,” Keith explained. “We have lots of Jewish friends. We’ve supported Jewish orphanages…The Hudsons do not mean any harm.”

…he explained that the comments were said in jest and that there was certainly no harm meant by them. “I was joking. I have said this for years – I’ve said it in other churches before,” he continued.

Just before the comments were made, Keith said that he was talking about and praying for small business owners — mainly individuals who were self-employed. “I was talking about how God wants people to prosper and to be a blessing,” he explains. “God wants to bless you so you can be a blessing.”

  • He’s an evangelical preacher should us jews really be surprised? I’ve met enough of these people to know they are uncomfortable-at best-with jews, are thoroughly convinced any religion but their own could possibly lead to heaven and cringe and squirm whenever you happen to bring up the fact their savior was a Jew himself while they are attempting to ‘save your jewish soul from eternal damnation’. We’re not really dealing with a group of geniuses. Sorry.

  • Should we introduce him to Mel Gibson’s father?

  • That offends you? Well I suppose but I think that stupid attempt at a joke / vicious stereotype perpetration pales in comparison to what he teaches his flock; all Jews are going to Hell to be tortured along with the evil.

Fair enough to say that it’s mitigated by the Jews not being the only ones (atheists, Hindus, Muslims, homosexuals, Christians that aren’t the right kind of Christians etc.) but still it means that they worship and love a god who is just about the worst sort of anti-Semite there is.

    • Oh and I’d rather listen to a drill burrowing into my ear than Katy Perry’s music but I do enjoy her videos.

      With the sound off.

  • Not a funny joke….and I am offended – so it does cause harm Mr. Hudson.

The Brewish State: Israel Taps Into Growing Craft Beer Bazaar

JNS.org – It’s widely known that Israel has penetrated the wine market, with some of its sophisticated Israeli blends surpassing historically excellent wines from areas such as the Napa Valley or Bordeaux. But what about beer? For decades, Israel has offered solely the Maccabi and Nesher brands. Not anymore. “There is a huge push of people making beer at home. The country is approaching over 30 craft breweries in the last year or two, making nearly 200 beers,” says Avi Moskowitz, […]

The Collected Works of Primo Levi, Edited by Ann Goldstein (REVIEW)

Primo Levi and Elie Wiesel were the two most immediate and authentic literary voices who gave witness to the Holocaust. Wiesel was an extrovert and a very public figure who wrote initially in French. Levi was a modest retiring chemist who wrote in Italian. Whereas Wiesel was rooted in the Eastern European Jewish Hassidic world, Levi was the product of an assimilated, secular Italian society that saw itself as Italian first and Jewish as an accident of birth. As Levi himself said, “At Auschwitz I […]

Wine Brings Judea and Samaria to Tel Aviv

JNS.org – Wine has long been considered a social lubricant, and it’s Nir Lavie’s hope that wine from his Har Bracha Winery in the Samarian hills will serve as a social lubricant between the city-goers of Tel Aviv and the Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria, two locales split geographically, and often politically, on the left and right of the country. The new flagship store of Har Bracha has recently popped its corks on 190 Ben Yehuda Street in Tel Aviv, […]

Tracing Chabad’s History and Success (REVIEW)

The secret of Chabad’s worldwide success is revealed by veteran Chabad shliach (emissary) Rabbi David Eliezrie in his new book, The Secret of Chabad. The Chabad movement was founded by Rabbi Schnur Zalman of Liadi, Belarus, in 1775. Years later it came to the US with the arrival of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn in 1940, after his escape from Nazi-occupied Warsaw. Upon his arrival in New York, a number of his co-religionists advised him that there was no place for traditional […]
