A circumcision in Northern Israel went horribly wrong recently, when the mohel responsible for the procedure accidentally cut off a third of the infant’s penis, Israeli media reported on Wednesday.
The infant was rushed to a hospital in Haifa, Israel where an emergency operation was performed because his life was in danger. The circumcision procedure, traditionally done 8 days after birth, may have caused permanent damage to the child, although senior urologists at the hospital said it will be a number of days until anything can be determined.
The baby’s parents have gone to the Israeli Ministry of Health to report the incident.

To A REAL (deluded) American: Were you not aware that circumcision began in America as a cure for MASTURBATION? Although relatively few people think that masturbation is a sin nowadays, circumcision is too good a moneymaker to give up, so it continues, even though it is designed to damage the victim’s penis. When legislators get the backbone to see it as a crime against males, the law will change, and it is high time it did. When your penis becomes so insensitive that you no longer orgasm in intercourse, which happens more often than you think, then you’ll resent what a doctor/mohel did to you.

How can an educated person call foreskin a “useless piece of tissue”? Why on earth would God create a little boy with a useless part of his body? Do you believe it is put there for the sole reason so it can be cut off? This makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever. Look in the mirror closely and tell yourself this lie you seem to believe. The foreskin is a perfectly normal, natural, healthy part of a males sexual anatomy……and it DOES have functions! Circumcision is traumatic and medically unnecessary….and religion is no excuse to cut on a babies healthy body. This is 2012 and it is high time people figured this all out!

Not only that but the Bible CLEARLY states that people are NOT to perform circumcision anymore ( ~1 Cor. 7:17 “As God has called each man, in this manner let him walk. And thus I command in all the churches. Was any man called in the circumcision [i.e. Old Covenant]? Let him not try to become uncircumcised. Has anyone been called in the uncircumcision [i.e. New Covenant]? Let him not be circumcised! Circumcision is nothing. And uncircumcision is nothing but the keeping of the commandments of God. Let each man remain in that condition in which he was called.”) According to the NT, circumcision is to be treated as animal sacrifice. Even Jews were called to not perform it anymore ( Rom. 3:29-30 “Is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles, also? Yes, of Gentiles also. Since the God who will justify those of the circumcision out of faith, and those of the uncircumcision through faith, is One.”) Jesus’s circumcision was the beginning of his blood letting, the NT states many times that the only way to heaven is through Christ. It is outrageous for anyone to use religion and the bible as a means to mutilate infants genitals it is simply disturbing. What our parents and grandparents did must be changed! Sexual mutilation of children is abuse. This sort of accident (and death) happens with tragic regularity wherever children are subjected to superstitious adults cutting their genitals.
I have tremendous respect for all Jewish couples who have looked deeply at this issue of genital mutilation and abandoned the cutting. Children can be welcomed and named without cutting them and they will be happier and healthier with whole and unscarred genitals.

I do not want to be disrespectful to anyone’s beliefs but as in all things, as man’s knowledge of the universe develops, our understanding of our God (however you practice your faith) should change and evolve. From the knowledge I know of world religions I cannot see one of the that would want to put innocent babies through this trauma at such a young age. Faith is something that you learn about when you are a child but not something you can truly have until you are an adult. In most countries tattoos are not allowed until 18 and I would put this above that. Eight days should be wrong in anyone’s eyes, 18 would be an informed, considered choice.

There are probably more than 100 babies killed by this procedure in the US every year. Figures are hard to obtain because the actual declarations give “blood loss” or “infection” as the cause.
As far as am I concerned if a baby dies as a result of a circumcision he had no choice in undergoing, he has been murdered.

How ironic…even if only one baby died or had his penis made unusable per year, it would be too much..there is no sense in cutting an infant shortly after birth, for what?

Michael, please show where you made up this statistic from. I have checked countless claims like yours over the years and have found no record of deaths from circumcision.
In fact, I have found the opposite.
One of the studies cited by the anti-Circumcision crowd revealed that when the physician or mohel was experienced (as in any procedure), the instances of morbidity was extremely low and the instances of mortality was ZERO.
Jews have been performing the Brit Millah (circumcision) on their children for nearly 4000 years and will continue for another 4000 years. Just say NO to the morons and idiots who tell you NOT to circumcise.

These parents shouldn’t have the right to complain or file any charges. This is all too common and is in the ‘risks’ consent form they signed. A pointless surgery went horribly wrong and you could have prevented it? Seems like common sense isn’t very common. I hope that moron baby cutter loses his license to practice, is forced to pay damages ‘to the child’ and he’s rescued from his idiotic parental units.
In the end, I hope their’ child’s suffering was worth it to satisfy their lust for blood. Its simply pathetic that children aren’t protected from this brutality because of ‘tradition’ and preference. EVERY circumcision inflicts permanent damage to the child. An adult foreskin is approximately fifteen square inches of erogenous tissue that has many functions, both sexual and protective. Circumcision removes 1/3 to 1/2 of the penile skin including the most sensitive parts of the penis. It destroys the gliding function and permanently exposes mucosal tissue that is meant to be moist and covered.
All children, regardless of gender, have a human right to bodily integrity. That includes keeping their whole, intact genitals until they can decide for themselves if they would like their bodies permanently altered without medical justification.

Actually yes it does inflict permanent damage. Scar tissue is notoriously less sensitive, it’s what makes up about half the shaft in a cut male – and that’s if it went well! Cut men tend to like rougher sex because they feel less. That the head is always exposed is also responsible, as it forms a type of callous, but this can be remedied by wearing something similar to the Manhood or taking the time to restore their foreskin.
