Ashleigh Vissel’s grandfather was one of the well over 1 million people murdered at Auschwitz, Nazi Germany’s most infamous death camp.
More than 60 years later, Vissel took her grandfather’s violin to Poland and played the instrument inside the grounds of what Nazi Germany’s Henrich Himmler said would be the “final solution of the Jewish question in Europe”.
