Omar Dakhane, an Arab blogger who debunked a photo which purported to show an Israeli soldier stepping on a young Palestinian girl, has now uncovered that a photo circulating around the internet, said to be of a Palestinian hunger striker, is in truth, a Moroccan prisoner.

“This picture is being shared all over Facebook and social media sites as a picture of a Palestinian prisoner on a hunger strike in the Israeli prisons. But the fact is that this person is a Moroccan prisoner named “Azzedine ِal-Rouissi “, Dakhane writes. “It’s strange how no one cares when pictures like this emerge from Arab countries, but when it’s falsely associated with the Palestinians, suddenly everyone cares. Isn’t the Moroccan citizen a human too, or does helping Moroccan victims not as profitable as supporting the other “cause”?

The photo – seen in the top left hand corner and below – was shared on Facebook on May 5th.
