An Islamic group said tomatoes are forbidden to eat because they are a “Christian food,” according to a report on NowLebanon.com.
The “Popular Egyptian Islamic Association” posted on Facebook that the tomato “praises the cross instead of Allah,” claiming that the interior of a tomato resembles a cross when the tomato is cut in half.
Additionally, the group cited “a sister from Palestine who saw the Prophet of Allah in a vision and he was crying, warning his nation against eating [tomatoes].”

…”They hated Me without a cause”… even tomatoes? …May Jesus Forgive them…

that’s insane – it doesn’t look like a cross at all when I cut a tomato in half -

This is sheer nonsense! Not only the content of the article but mainly its title! What purpose does it serve? I really can’t get it! Referring to the unknown “Popular Egyptian Islamic Association” as “Egyptian Islamists” has one purpose: spreading chaotic panic! Unless of course it is meant as a joke… of very bad taste! What now, are we supposed to reply with stories about the Amish as representatives of Christianity? Come one… a break please! We should not dignify such crap by spreading it!

Not one reply calling out the ridiculousness of this claim ?
When tomatoes are Christian food…what does that make my cat eating tomatoes ?
A Christian cat ? I’m not Christian this lifetime nor is my cat. We don’t attend churches nor do we believe in a man on a cloud with a beard being displeased with what we do in life.
Stop hiding behind foods and other useless remarks that have no value.
