In honor of her Israeli close friend Liron’s birthday on Sunday, Mariah Carey gave a shout out on Twitter to her Israeli fans. “Celebrating my friend’s Anniversary!” she tweeted from New York, “Le’chaim shout out to Israel 8.12!”

This wasn’t the first time Carey displayed her connection to Israel;  she also sang the Jewish State’s national anthem “Hatikvah” in the 2006 Adam Sandler film  “You Don’t Mess With The Zohan.”

Carey showed off her knowledge of Jewish holidays back in March when she wished her Jewish friends “Happy Purim!” on Twitter. She also added at the time: “Hope you have your festive ensemble together! C’mon, you know this is a festive holiday!”
