6 Arabs Try to Rape Woman in North of Israel
by Zach Pontz
A 54 year old woman narrowly escaped a sexual assault by six Palestinian men, ranging in the age of 26-40, Tuesday while taking a routine morning walk in the small northern Israeli town of Sharona, located in the lower Galilee region.
The woman, who remains unidentified, was ambushed and struck in the head with a stone by a single assailant while walking through the fields on the outskirts of the town. According to Israel’s Channel 2, she was forced to the ground by the impact of the blow. An initial assailant then tried to rape the woman, who noticed five other men standing nearby, observing the scene and encouraging him. The woman, however, managed to contact police on her cell phone. They arrived on the scene shortly thereafter, apprehending the initial assailant, and taking him into custody in the city of Tiberias.
The woman was taken to a hospital in the city of Afula with light injuries. The police were able to track down and arrest the other five Palestinian men a short time later.
