In an interview with Iran’s Jahan News, Ali Shirazi, Ayatollah Khamenei’s representative in the Revolutionary Guards’ naval force, said Wednesday that, were Israel to attack the Islamic Republic, it would take only 24 hours for Iran to destroy the country in retaliation.

“If a war with Israel does happen, it wouldn’t be a long one, and it would benefit the entire Muslim world,” Ali Shirazi said.

Meanwhile, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, told a group of  “young gifted talents” Wednesday that “The Iranian nation has never bowed to pressure and never will, and this is the cause of enemy’s fury,” according to the Fars News Agency.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has faced a range of pressures including political, security, military, economic as well as sanctions, though the Iranian nation has not only neutralized these pressures through resistance, but has become stronger,” The Fars News Agency also quoted him as saying.
