Israeli media reports that a terrorist was caught with 8 pipe bombs at the Kalandia checkpoint on the northern edge of Jerusalem, near Pisgat Ze’ev.
The pipe bombs were fully assembled, the reports says. The suspect, 20, reportedly traveled to the checkpoint by taxi. He was apprehended and turned over to police.
The bombs were discovered during a routine check. Israel National News reports that upon discovery of the bombs authorities used sappers to neutralize the explosives.
According to a report at Debka.com the checkpoint is currently closed.
Earlier in the day an IDF officer was wounded while on patrol along the Gaza border when an explosive device was triggered.
