Rupert Murdoch Tweets: “Why Is Jewish Owned Press so Consistently Anti-Israel In Every Crisis?”

Taking to Twitter Saturday night media mogul Rupert Murdoch asked, “Why Is Jewish Owned Press so Consistently Anti-Israel In Every Crisis?”
Murdoch whose News Corporation owns such media properties as Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post didn’t specify which outlets he was referring to, but earlier he called out some other media giants for their anti-Israel bias, tweeting, “Middle East ready to boil over any day. Israel position precarious. Meanwhile watch CNN and AP bias to point of embarrassment.”
He also took a swing at President Obama’s handling of the latest increase in rocket attacks on Israeli civilians, tweeting, “Can’t Obama stop his friends in Egypt shelling Israel?”
Murdoch has consistently ranked high in The Algemeiner annual list of the “Top 10 Non-Jews Positively Influencing the Jewish Future,” coming in at number one in 2010, and number two in 2011, and 2012.
In the first list, where he was awarded the top spot, his entry reads, “he continues to serve as a beacon in the media for fair and balanced treatment of Israel and related issues.” Murdoch has also been awarded by a number of Jewish groups, including the American Jewish Committee and the Museum of Jewish Heritage.
He is not alone in his bafflement over some Jewish attitudes towards Israel, as other gentiles who have voiced support for Israel have questioned the hostile position towards the Jewish state that some Jews have taken.

UPDATE: November 18th – Murdoch tweeted a retraction of his comments, saying,”‘Jewish owned press’ have been sternly criticised, suggesting link to Jewish reporters. Don’t see this, but apologise unreservedly.”
