Ynet – The shoe that almost caused a diplomatic crisis – Swedish Ambassador to Iran Peter Tejler last week attempted to pass his letter of accreditation to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in what was meant to be a routine diplomatic procedure.
The event began according to plan until the ambassador decided to cross his legs. The action seemed to have insulted the Iranian president causing him to flash the ambassador a retaliatory leg-crossing himself.
