Shocking footage emerged on YouTube Saturday of Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem being hounded and abused by a mob of Arabs some of which are heard on the video to be laughing loudly.
In the video the Arab youths are seen kicking, shoving, hurling chunks of snow and shouting insults at two men. One of the Jewish men falls as he slips on stairs attempting to escape the mob and the hat of one of them is taken. The attackers are mostly hooded and wearing kaffiyehs.
Israel National News, which published the video, reports that “The attack apparently took place near Shechem Gate. The Jews were most likely on their way back from praying at the Kotel. Border Police who are usually stationed in the area are nowhere to be seen.”

I don’t like seeing anyone abused; especially Jews! Maybe the snow in Jerusalem made folks a little crazy, but that’s still no excuse for what we saw on the video. However, my biggest beef is with Algemeiner’s captions and headline writers. If they really equate snowballs and hat snatching with “terror,” they’re going to lose me as a reader. I won’t believe them when (G-d forbid) the real thing happens.

It appears that both the Army and Police had other things to do then patrol the streets. Of course Chasidim and Harudei Men are an target. Both are reprehensive, but Jews do not wear suicide vests and blow up other Jews. The arabs kill Jews and they kill one another. Where were the other Jews in the street to fight back. This would never happen in Boro Park or Williamsburg without the attackers being “taken care of”. What most of the world does not realize how big of an atrocity this is. These religious men have just come from praising God. Reminds me of the Bronx in the early 1950s and those “nice” Irish-American toughs.
But anybody can play -back in about 1947 a group of Spanish flamenco dancers and musicians were performing a benefit..Holocaust stories were coming out daily -Israel was not yet a fact.The Jewish audience was not appreciative..the performere carried on. When the performers left they were crying.
This group had entertained the Spanish forces fighting Franco..toward the end they picked up guns..During the war they joined resistance groups in Europe.
The ignorance of that Jewish audience is still vivid in my mind..just as is the picture of my mother confronting that rude insulting audience alone.
