Shocking footage emerged on YouTube Saturday of Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem being hounded and abused by a mob of Arabs some of which are heard on the video to be laughing loudly.

In the video the Arab youths are seen kicking, shoving, hurling chunks of snow and shouting insults at two men. One of the Jewish men falls as he slips on stairs attempting to escape the mob and the hat of one of them is taken. The attackers are mostly hooded and wearing kaffiyehs.

Israel National News, which published the video, reports that “The attack apparently took place near Shechem Gate. The Jews were most likely on their way back from praying at the Kotel. Border Police who are usually stationed in the area are nowhere to be seen.”

Israeli officials have noted an increase in Arab violence and terror activity in Jerusalem in recent months.

The video of the Arab attack can be viewed below:

  • Perdoai-vos ó Hashem, eles não sabem o que fasem ?

  • They (Orthodox Jews) should be carrying a gun to kill these vermin (Palo) wankers! This shouldn’t be happening in The Jewish Homeland!! :)

  • Salomon Mizrahi

Rav Meir Kahane, zl” was a prophet!
Don´t wait for the police, organize your own selfdefense!

    • Where are the Israeli youth, why are they not out to defend and show thees parasites what democracy is, and living in a free society . Yes, form a local defense against these outbreaks. And fight them.

      • The real parasites are theseharedim who expect our soldiers to defend them while they don”t do eny service to the country. Usually its a gang of us israelis who are terorising arabs so dont be so naive and dont believe any video.

      • We need to pray for them as Jesus said, if those doing wrong here new our Lord they would be convicted and change, I prayed for them even tho they are the enemy, God please reveal your self to them beyond a shadow of doubt in Jesus name Amen! If after they know Him they still go against Him then God will deal with them as He will!

        • Some time in 2012, Moslem terrorists invaded a
Catholic Church in Bagdad, and machine gunned the priest, and some fifty to fifty-five parishoners, men, women, and children. If you
want to forgive, start with the Arab terrorists
who butcher Christian Arabs in the Middle East.
There is only one answer for such: an eye for an
eye, not forgiveness that denies justice to the living refugees and the dead.

  • Was that a police car that went by? Not one car stopped? The Bronx in the 50″s? Queens, too.

  • Tone Lechtzier

    Shalom,
it’s disgusting that passer buys do not come to their aid. This is Arab appreciation for being Israeli citizens? The solution is to deport all of them, far more extreme measures have been done to us. Why would Jews want to relocate in Israel when this is all too common?
    B”H ~ Blessings

  • If you listen carefully you can hear someone shouting “Itbach al yahud”, kill the Jew (at 0:54 playing time).

  • There were plenty of other people in the streets. Why did they not help these two men? This looks like Hitler youth attacking Jews in Germany and nobody stopped the thugs. Israelies should be helping each other no matter how religious or irreligious they are.

  • Just a bunch of Muslims emulating the sociopath Muhammad…
He and Allah loved killing & humiliating Jews..
All “good”Muslims try to do the same!

  • Are these the same Haredi Jews who have been spitting for years on Christians in Jerusalem? Are these the same Haredis who throw stones at women who they do not think properly dressed?

  • It is one thing when this sort of thing happens everywhere else. But, how is it possible that it happens in Israel and these dogs get away with it? Are we so intimidated by world opinion (which is and has always been a lost cause of us) that we allow this Arab filth to bully us in our own country and do nothing about it?

    How is it possible?

  • Fredric M. London

Hersch, you should be ashamed of yourself (and obviously, you are). If you hate who you are so much, I feel very sorry for your family. No group is beyond criticism, but only a genuine anti-Semite would have no problem with this video.

  • Join the IDF instead of studying ancient myths

  • JOIN THE IDF instead of studying ancient documents

  • The Arab will always seek to attack the weak or undefended among us. This should not be a surprise to anyone. Fight back my people! Hurt the enemy so they might see the scars and remember the dangerous Jews. My family will fight!

  • The Orthodox Jews need to start pulling their weight for a change and start to contribute to the defence of Israel rather than simply sitting back and taking handouts. It is past time for them to get to work and to be a contributing members of Israeli society and the IDF.

  • This makes me sick, I’m praying–there is power in prayer CJ

  • I don’t like seeing anyone abused; especially Jews! Maybe the snow in Jerusalem made folks a little crazy, but that’s still no excuse for what we saw on the video. However, my biggest beef is with Algemeiner’s captions and headline writers. If they really equate snowballs and hat snatching with “terror,” they’re going to lose me as a reader. I won’t believe them when (G-d forbid) the real thing happens.

  • Not a single Jew around to help?@!

  • It appears that both the Army and Police had other things to do then patrol the streets. Of course Chasidim and Harudei Men are an target. As to them coming from Prayer. arabs do not care about jewish prayer at all. They used to drop rocks on them from the Wall above as they stood at the kotel in Prayer. Nothing has changed, just less reported or stopped these days.

  • Jerry Hersch, you are pathetic! Nothing but a self-hating Jew! If the modern day Hitler comes to call again, you will be on the list no doubt about it!

  • Which is more terrifying and shocking- a shower of snowballs or a shower of stones and spit by Haredi Jews ??

    • Jerry Hersch – I wish for this Arab mob to do that to you! then we will see what you write….

    • Jerry Hersch you are truly an abomination as expressed in the Old Testament. You are a pitifully despicable excuse for a Jew. I am assuming with your name that is what you purport to be. A pox on your house.

    • Both are reprehensive, but Jews do not wear suicide vests and blow up other Jews. The arabs kill Jews and they kill one another. Where were the other Jews in the street to fight back. This would never happen in Boro Park or Williamsburg without the attackers being “taken care of”. Yes not all Charedi are fighters but they should have come back with a small army of their fellow charedim and sent a strong message. This is supposed to be the Jewish State how could no one intervine? That is shocking and that is why we suffer.

  • What most of the world does not realize how big of an atrocity this is. These religious men have just come from praising God. No matter what you do or do not believe in these men spend their lives learning the Old Testament and doing good deeds. They are not in the army, they harm no one and wish no harm on anyone… This is like watching thugs attack nuns – it is repulsive and disgusting. These Arabs are Israeli citizens free to practice what ever religion they want in the Jewish State, being treated a whole lot better then any other Arab country and this is how the behave??? Outrageous, disgusting and shame on all of them!! I hope they are all found out and locked up!!!! Shame shame shame on them!!!!!

  • Reminds me of the Bronx in the early 1950s and those “nice” Irish-American toughs.
But anybody can play -back in about 1947 a group of Spanish flamenco dancers and musicians were performing a benefit..Holocaust stories were coming out daily -Israel was not yet a fact. The Jewish audience was not appreciative..the performere carried on. When the performers left they were crying.
This group had entertained the Spanish forces fighting Franco..toward the end they picked up guns..During the war they joined resistance groups in Europe.
The ignorance of that Jewish audience is still vivid in my mind..just as is the picture of my mother confronting that rude insulting audience alone.

    • Jerry Hersh,
You just gave yourself away. It’s obvious that you are a Jew hater but in your plaudits of Spanish resistance to Franco I would guess that you are also a Commie. But don’t the two go together?

      • Perhsps Gerry G you should study the Hitler support for Franco in men andarms -And study the history of the Spanish Blue Division that Franco sent to help Hitler on the Eastern Front..and the Blue Division and its activities regarding Jews.

    • I don’t really understand much Hebrew. But it is pathetic to see Jews bullied like this in the heart of what the our homeland.

    • Please don’t ……that writing is horrible…..it look like one of my prescriptions.
      Lol…lol…

  • CAN you imagine if JEWS were doing this to an Arab how there would be a WORLD UPROAR!?

  • This is in ISRAEL on the way back from the Kotel??! Where are the Police to protect its’ citizens?! Why do Arabs feel free to roam and beat Jews in the Middle of the Jewish Capital?! Where are OUR SOLDIERS protecting OUR people!??

Unpacking the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict and Its Ripple Effect on Israel’s Region

JNS.org – Aside from Israel itself, those with a vested interest in the Jewish state are accustomed to tracking developments related to Middle East players such as Iran, Syria, Jordan and Egypt. But much global attention has recently focused on the Caucasus region at the Europe-Asia border, specifically on the suddenly intensified violence between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the mountainous Nagorno-Karabakh area of western Azerbaijan. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, while not taking place in Israel’s immediate neighborhood, does have what one scholar called […]

JNS.org – On Friday, April 22, 196 nations across the world mark Earth Day, the annual day dedicated to environmental protection that was enacted in 1970. Not to be forgotten on this day is Israel, which is known as the “start-up nation” for its disproportionate amount of technological innovation, including in the area of protecting the environment. For Earth Day 2016, JNS.org presents a sampling of the Jewish state’s internal achievements and global contributions in the environmental realm. Water conservation Israeli […]

New Documentary Explores Holocaust Humor, Role That Laughter Played in Death Camps

Holocaust humor and the role that laughter played in the lives of Jews during World War II are the focus of a documentary that made its world premiere on Monday at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. In The Last Laugh, first- and second-generation survivors, as well as famous Jewish and non-Jewish comedians, discuss their thoughts on when joking about the death camps is appropriate or taboo. “Nazi humor, that’s OK. Holocaust humor, no,” Jewish comedic giant, actor and filmmaker Mel Brooks says in the film. “Anything I […]

Tragedy Culminates in ‘Celebration,’ Says Israeli Author Who Lost Son to Terror

JNS.org – Sherri Mandell’s life was devastated on May 8, 2001, when her 13-year-old son Koby was murdered by terrorists on the outskirts of the Israeli Jewish community of Tekoa. Yet Mandell not only shares the story of her loss, but also celebrates the lessons she has learned from tragedy. Indeed, “celebrate” is this Israeli-American author’s word choice. Her second book, The Road to Resilience: From Chaos to Celebration (Toby Press), came out earlier this year. The lesson: in every celebration, there is […]

For Alan Gross, Cuban Prison Didn’t Harden His Heart or Weaken His Ambition

JNS.org – Alan Gross used to be nothing more to me than a tragic headline. When I started my position at this news service in July 2011, Gross had been imprisoned in Cuba since December 2009 for what that country called “crimes against the state.” Gross, a subcontractor for the United States Agency for International Development, went to Cuba to help the Jewish community there access the Internet. After his arrest, he received a trial he describes as a “B movie,” […]

New Movie Shows How Global Economic Instability Grew From Very Local Greed

JNS.org – When I saw the recent Academy Award-winning film “The Big Short,” I was struck by the sheer genius of the financiers who devised the schemes and packaged the loans for resale, but it left me with unanswered questions about how the properties these loans represented were moved. “The Big Short” was largely about paper transactions, big money, and wealthy investors, and it mildly touched on the way the actual end-users — the home buyers and brokers — played into this […]

    Psychiatry and the Spirit

Why do we think so negatively about psychiatrists that we still insult them by calling them shrinks? Some medics might be quacks, but we don’t generally refer to them as witches! Shrinks; The Untold Story of Psychiatry, by Dr. Jeffrey Lieberman, is a sobering account of how psychiatry has swung from a marginal, unscientific mixture of weird theories into one of the most common and pervasive forms of treatment of what are commonly called “disorders of the mind.” Is it […]

At Forbes Summit in Israel, Entrepreneurship Is a ‘Common Language’

JNS.org – Nine months ago, Seth Cohen, director of network initiatives for the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, and Randall Lane, editor of Forbes Magazine, were schmoozing about the “vibrancy of Tel Aviv and soul of Jerusalem,” as Lane put it. They dreamed about how they could bring young and innovative millennials to the so-called “start-up nation.” From April 3-7, Forbes turned that dream into a reality. Israel played host to the first-ever Forbes Under 30 EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) […]
