Algemeiner Editor Dovid Efune appeared on Real News TV Wednesday, a day after elections in Israel to discuss the results with host Amy Holmes.

Asked for his read on the election outcome Efune said that those pundits hailing a Leftward shift were wrong. “Really it seems as if the pieces moved around a little bit, but I would definitely not say that this was a Leftward shift,” he said.

Breaking down the positions of Yair Lapid, the surprise big winner in the elections, whose Yesh Atid party came in second with 19 seats, Efune said that he definitely can’t be lumped with the political Left on security issues.

“Not much shift there at all, he is a true centrist when it comes to these issues, and he is definitely not on the same page as President Obama,” Efune said.

Earlier this week Efune elaborated on the subject in his column, entitled, ‘Israel’s emphatic response to Obama’s thinly veiled threat.’
