Israeli musician Shira Gavrielov was kicked off American Idol after a group performance of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” was poorly received by the judges. But she didn’t leave silently.

Gavrielov returned to the stage, saying, “I wanted to ask for an explanation, I feel like I’ve done a good job, and I would love you guys to give me another chance.” Randy Jackson responded negatively: “Here’s the deal though, just based on your performance, and that is what this is about, you singing, it just wasn’t great today. You may think that you were incredible, but the four of us collectively did not feel that.”

Gavrielov’s start on the show was covered by The Algemeiner earlier this year. She has already had a solo album in Israel and is the daughter of noted veteran singer-songwriter Miki Gavrielov.

Gavrielov, who received the coveted golden ticket to Hollywood, has already had a solo album in Israel. She is the daughter of noted veteran singer-songwriter Miki Gavrielov and local talent agent Michal Gavrielov.
