Politico – Sen. John McCain said Sunday he expects former Sen. Chuck Hagel to be confirmed by the full Senate this week as the next secretary of defense.

    Senator John McCain,

I have written two e-mails to you and requested a response to each of them to no avail. Although I live in Illinois and you represent Arizona, you are still my senator is is every single senator in the United States Senate. I find your acceptance of a confirmation vote appalling as well as egregious after what has been revealed to the public in the last three weeks. For a senior member of the United States Senate and a true American war hero, you should be ashamed of your acceptance of such a poor choice for Secretary of Defense. Shame on you for not defending the American people this time when your voice could block a man who deserves retirement from public life, not the power to create horrible tidings from the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe. Chuck Hagel will undoubtedly show his anti-Semitic, unstable, equivocal, hypocritical, deceitful, indifferent self loud and nauseatingly patent for all of us to see, hear, and stomach, including and especially you and Lindsey Graham, if the two of you allow his confirmation to pass the United States Senate.
