Senate to Vote on Hagel Tuesday
Fox News – The Senate plans to vote once again on Chuck Hagel’s nomination for Defense secretary, with supporters aiming to clear a procedural hurdle after Republicans blocked the nominee in a historic filibuster earlier this month.
According to a Senate Democratic leadership aide, the Senate plans to hold the test vote Tuesday at noon. If Hagel clears the 60-vote threshold, a final vote would likely be scheduled by Wednesday.

Senators,
This morning Ashkelon was bombed by a grad rocket for the first time since the end of Pillar of Defense, the Israeli initiative to stop the rockets from the Gaza Strip last November. In addition, the PA has been inciting rioting in Judea and Samaria in the last few days. As Secretary of Defense, G-d forbid, Mr. Hagel would probably shrug his shoulders and nod in agreement with these violent activities against the civilian population in Israel. Israel needs the support of the United States at this very critical time in Israel’s continuing effort to sustain herself. Please do not let her down. Please vote down the nomination of Chuck Hagel today and select a nominee who is competent, insightful, caring, and knowledgeable about military affairs. Such a decision to vote down Mr. Hagel’s nomination might make Iran think twice about pursuing a nuclear weapon. It would make North Korea think twice about further provocations.
