The anti-Defamation League recently honored Italian President George Napolitano with its highest honor, the ADL Distinguished Statesman Award, in recognition of his “uncompromising, unequivocal stand against the evil of anti-Semitism” and for “defending the rights of immigrants, minorities and others underrepresented in Italian society.”
The gift that came with the honor, by famed Israeli artist Yaacov Agam, was this stylized menorah (left).
