One of the people I really admire is Scooter Braun.

Scooter – real name Scott Samuel Braun – is the genius who discovered and manages Justin Bieber. At the age of just 31 he has built a formidable entertainment empire. Full of enthusiasm and energy, he works tirelessly not just in business but for a string of good causes, too. When I researched my biography of Justin, which has now been published in 15 countries, I greatly enjoyed piecing together Scooter’s part in the story.

He has become something of a father figure to the millions of fans who follow his acts. He interacts regularly with them online, offering messages of positivity and motivation. He shows them that they, too, can do great things with their lives. Not for him the ivory tower of some music moguls.

Last year Scooter, who is the grandson of two Holocaust survivors, was given the American Civil Liberties Union’s bill of rights award. In his acceptance speech, he talked about the role of the bystander. I love these simple yet powerful truths. Have a lovely weekend, everyone.
