Alex Clare
Musician
Clare is on the verge of becoming a global pop superstar and can already make the claim for supremacy in his native Britain, where his albums have peaked near the top of the charts. Once best-known for being the boyfriend of fallen Jewish balladeer Amy Winehouse, Clare become an entity in his own right when a Microsoft commercial used his music, lifting him from obscurity. Though Clare was raised secular, he’s become more religious as he’s grown older, something that hasn’t always helped his career. In 2012, he had to pass up the opportunity to support pop phenomenon Adele on tour, because her concert dates were during Passover.
