Executive Director, American Jewish Committee
Harris sits at the top of one of the largest and most important Jewish advocacy groups in the world. He meets with world leaders to advance Israel’s diplomatic standing and promote international human rights and inter-religious and inter-ethnic understanding. He has played integral roles in everything from combating global anti-Semitism, atrocities in the Balkans, and the oppression of Soviet Jewry. His activism has not gone unnoticed, and he has received decorations from several nations, the most recent being the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
