Herman Wouk

Author

In a career that has spanned some seven decades, Wouk has penned classics of American literature, including The Caine Mutiny and War and Remembrance. His first work of non-fiction came in 1959 with This is My God, an explanation of orthodox Judaism. One of the leading Jewish authors of the 20th century, in 1998 Wouk was given the Guardian of Zion Award, given to Jews who have been supportive of the State of Israel. In 2012, at the age of 97, Wouk published another novel, The Lawgiver, a novel about writing a novel about Moses. Wouk remains an indelible influence on Jewish life and how it is perceived by the general public.
