Mem Bernstein
Philanthropist
This media-shy philanthropist has used the fortune left to her by her late husband to launch possibly the hottest Jewish culture site on the web, Tablet. It’s funded by Keren Keshet-The Rainbow Foundation, which is said to reflect Bernstein’s personal Jewish vision, and funds Tablet’s sister site, Nextbook, as well. She’s also the financier behind the Avi Chai Foundation, a major player in Jewish education.
