Both Israel and Lebanon have deployed more troops along their respective borders following the interception of a drone attempting to breach Israel’s airspace on Thursday.

According to the state-run National News Agency, the Lebanese army and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) deployed heavily along the border “to prevent any military escalation.” Lebanese media also reported the increased presence of Israeli troops.

Lebanese media outlets also reported Friday afternoon that the Israeli Air Force was conducting mock raids over southern parts of the country.

According to reports, Israeli aircraft were seen flying low over areas near Bint Jbeil, Marjaayoun, Tabnin and the Litani River.

Israel shot down the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) shortly after it was spotted flying along Israel’s coastline. The country placed blame on the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, which in turned denied the allegations Friday.
