The Israel Air Force on Saturday bombed a Syrian chemical weapons site near Damascus, the Israeli newspaper Maariv reported, citing Syrian rebels.

According to Maariv, the Free Syrian Army (FSA) rebel group posted a video of smoke rising from the chemical weapons site it claims Israeli jets struck. FSA said the jets flew over the home of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad before the strike, and a Syrian air defense battery went on to fire at the jets.

Both Israeli and Syrian officials have not conformed the reported strike.

None of the chemical use storylines make sense.
Chemical weapon use need traing and thiese types of weapons are not given to junior officers for small unit actions as described in the stories.
That Syria has chemical weapons I have no doubt -whether it would risk their use in relatively smalll engagements realizing the larger strategic and political implications.
Chemical weapons could be of use against concentrated forces at a strategic pivot..not against small units for tactical advantage.
