Diplomatic sources in Beirut told Kuwaiti newspaper al-Qabas that 13 Hezbollah activists were killed in an alleged Israeli strike in Damascus over the weekend. The report has not been confirmed by any other source.
According to the report, Hezbollah has been unable to identify or locate the source which provided the intelligence allegedly to Israel that led to the sites being attacked.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which opposes the regime of Bashar al-Assad, said at least 42 Syrian soldiers were killed in Sunday’s strike, citing information from military hospitals.
