About 500 Arab teachers will be hired to teach in Jewish schools over the next five years, Kol Yisrael Israeli government radio reported Tuesday morning.
The move stems from a shortage of teachers instructing mathematics, science and English, as well as Arabic.
According to the report, the cost of the program will be roughly $1.64 million. The Education Ministry has begun to seek out candidates and formulate procedures for integrating them, with the goal of integrating 100 teachers into the schools by the start of the next school year.
