Israel has filed a complaint with the UN after it was reported Thursday morning that Syrian tanks had entered the demilitarized zone in the vicinity of the Quneitra crossing. The move would be in violation of the ceasefire agreement between the two countries.
Earlier Thursday it was reported that Syrian regime forces had captured the crossing after a fierce battle with Syrian rebels. This after the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and the Israel Defense Forces at first reported that rebels had taken the crossing, according to Reuters.
The IDF has warned Israeli citizens to stay away from the border fence area as fighting continues within the vicinity.
