Netanyahu: Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas Constantly Threaten Israel With Cyber Attacks
by Zach Pontz
Israel is the target of “non-stop” cyber attacks, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday at the annual international cyber security conference at Tel Aviv University, Israeli media reported.
Netanyahu said the attacks were being carried out by Iran and its proxies.
“In the past few months, we have identified a significant increase in the scope of cyber attacks on Israel by Iran. These attacks are carried out directly by Iran and through its proxies, Hamas and Hezbollah,” Netanyahu was quoted by Reuters as saying.
“Despite the non-stop attacks on us, you hear only about a few of them because we thwart most of them,” he added.
Netanyahu called for the establishment of a “digital Iron Dome,” and touted the effectiveness of the cyber security task force he established in 2011.
