Report: Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah’s Brother Killed in Syria Fighting
by Zach Pontz
The brother of Hezbollah terror chief Hassan Nasrallah was killed recently in a fierce battle in the Syrian city of Qusair, Israel’s Channel 2 reported Monday.
According to the report, Nasrallah attended the funeral of his brother, Khader, in the village of Kfar Kana in south Lebanon on Sunday.
Earlier in the month it was reported that Hezbollah fighters had assisted Syrian government forces in capturing the city from rebel anti regime fighters after a fierce and lengthy battle.
Al-Monitor reported Sunday night that shortly after Qusair fell, Nasrallah was spotted traveling the city to congratulate those responsible for the victory. The report added that it wasn’t the first time that Nasrallah had visited the country in support of Hezbollah fighters, who have been aiding President Bashar al-Assad’s army in its fight against the rebels.
If true, the death of Nasrallah’s brother would mark the second time a close family member of Nasrallah’s has been lost in war. In 1997, his son, Hadi, was killed in a battle against he IDF in Lebanon.
