A video posted on YouTube Tuesday appears to show supporters of the recently ousted Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt staging a demonstration for cameramen and photographers, replete with fake blood and doctors pretending to aid the wounded.

The video, posted by ElbadilTV, a nascent Egyptian news portal, and spotted online by anonymous blogger Elder of Ziyon, shows civilians enacting tragic scenes of violence, but without being subjected to any actual physical harm.

Demonstrators can be witnessed posing heroically as cameramen encircle them to capture their Oscar-worthy dramatic poses. Others lie on the ground, feigning injury, as photographers snap pictures, before the actors snap-back to life.

Egypt has been undergoing mass protests since late June, when protesters took to the streets in opposition to the country’s Islamist president, Mohamed Morsi. Only days later, Morsi was removed from office by the country’s military and replaced with an interim leader, Adly Mansour.

Watch the video of the staged demonstration below.
