The grand-niece of Disney co-founder Walt Disney has responded to the controversial anti-Israel comments made by the artist who voices the Arabic-language Donald Duck— the rights to which are owned by the company bearing her last name.

“Repellent, of course,” said Abigail Disney, whose grandfather, Roy, helped to establish the Walt Disney Company with his brother Walt.

Her comments made on Twitter came in response a query on the issue from Raphael Gluck, a social media consultant, who learned about the “Anti-Israel Donald Duck” from The Algemeiner’s exclusive report.

Wael Mansour, who has voiced Donald Duck in Arabic since 2006, caused a stir last week when he wrote on his Twitter account that he hoped for Israel to be “demolished” and referred to Israelis as “a bunch of Polish/ Ethiopian immigrants roughly 70 years old.”

When asked to further elaborate on his hostility to the Jewish state, Mansour told The Algemeiner: “The zionist entity is a racist entity by definition. Performing crimes of hate by the power of its criminal law. I stand firm by what I said.”

Days later the Disney Company distanced itself from the unfolding scandal, telling The Algemeiner that Mansour was a freelance employee not currently under contract, but declined to comment on whether he would be hired in the future.

While the comments from Abigail Disney, a filmmaker and philanthropist, condemning the anti-Israel Twitter tirade were welcomed by the Israel supporter who contacted her, Disney has also been a vocal anti-Israel critic.

In 2012 she donated the investments and profits from the Disney family’s stake in the Israel-based  Ahava cosmetics company, whose factory is located in the West Bank, to what she said were “organizations working to end this illegal exploitation.”

“I cannot in good conscience profit from what is technically the ‘plunder’ or ‘pillage’ of occupied natural resources,” she stated.

When contacted by The Algeimener via Twitter, Wael Mansour, who also claims to be a MEGA-FM 92.7 Cairo radio DJ said he had never heard of Abigail Disney.
