Video footage released online shows that the lives of IDF soldiers were at risk during a raid in the Qalandiya camp, north of Jerusalem, to capture a terror suspect, which resulted in the deaths of thee Palestinians, according to an Israeli military source cited by Israel’s Channel 2 news.

Amateur footage taken from a neighboring rooftop, published by Israel’s Walla News, shows Israeli security forces trapped in a jeep, and pelted by Arab youths with stones, planks, bricks and building materials from rooftops in Qalandiya.

In the footage, Arab youth can be seen attacking the Israeli jeep at the ground level and from surrounding rooftops. The jeep attempts to drive away, but is forced to stop several times because of the onslaught.

“The video shows on its own the extent of the power against IDF forces,” a military source told Channel 2. “It certainly proves that when we speak of lives being at risk, it’s real. And the forces responded because of that.”

Despite the assault, the IDF forces shown in the video take no action against the youths, as the mission involved vacating the area as quickly as possible, Channel 2 said.

“Border Police spokesman Shai Hakimi said officers were on an early morning raid to apprehend a ‘terror suspect’ when over 1,500 Palestinians poured into the streets and attacked the officers with firebombs and rocks,” the Times of Israel reported.

Three Arabs were killed in the incident, according to Palestinian media reports, Rubin Zayed, 34, Younis Jahjouh, 22 and Jihad Aslan, 27, and Israeli media reported that approximately 10 others were injured.

The office of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the incident and cancelled negotiations scheduled for today with Israel.

A video of the incident can be viewed below.
