To mark the conclusion of the Jewish holiday season, certain sects of the Chassidic Jewish community partake in a unique tradition wherein they gather around their rebbe and try to catch apples as he throws them into the crowd.

This year, a video of the Sanz Klausenberg sect in Borough Park, Brooklyn has attracted particular attention because of the fervid reaction to the rebbe’s tosses.
