Hamas Cell Planned to Detonate Remote Controlled Aircraft Bomb in Israel
by Joshua Levitt
A Hamas terrorist cell planned to detonate a bomb in Israel via a remote controlled aircraft, Israel’s Walla News reported on Friday.
The Hebron-based cell made up of university students were caught by Palestinian Authority security forces, and arrests were confirmed by Israel. Upon interrogation, police learned that the group had already conducted several test flights and were ready to launch the attack.
Walla said PA police have recently been more actively working to stop terror operatives, as well as enemies of the PA, conducting several raids that yielded large weapons caches in Jenin and the Jordan River valley. The PA is led by political faction Fatah and controls the West Bank, while rival Hamas controls Gaza.
Popular blogger Elder of Ziyon was the first to report on the incident in English.
