Early Wednesday, 26 Palestinian prisoners were released by Israel as part of a deal brokered between the Jewish state and the Palestinian Authority at the beginning of the current ongoing round of peace talks, which started in July.
According to the Jerusalem Post, 21 inmates convicted of killing Israelis before the 1993 Oslo accords, were released from Ofer Prison and taken to Ramallah in the West Bank. Five others were freed to the Gaza Strip.
Upon their return to the West Bank, the murderers were greeted by a sea of supporters. A video, posted to the website of anonymous blogger Elder of Ziyon, shows the revelry that broke out, capped off by one of the murderers telling the crowd, “All of Palestine from the river to the sea.”
