USA Today – The trial of ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi adjourned almost as quickly as it began Monday after a defiant Morsi rejected the charges against him and asserted his claim that he remains the “legitimate president” of the country.
Egyptian security officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the proceedings said the trial would resume Jan. 8, allowing defense lawyers to review the new documents in the case.
