by Zach Pontz
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange saw a record day Wednesday, hitting 1,344 points, above the all-time high closing level of 1,341.9 points on April 21, 2011, but just shy of the all-time intra-day high of 1,345 points, Globes reported.
The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.68% to 1,344.34 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.67% to 1,213.43 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index rose 0.22% to 324.04 points, Globes said.
TASE’s record high was inline with global gains, especially in the U.S., where the Dow Jones Industrial Average passed the 16,000 mark for the first time in its 128-year history on Monday. Standard & Poor’s 500 index topped the 1,800 level to set an intra-day record; and the Nasdaq composite reached 3,995 — its highest level since 2000.
