Emails sent out to help raise money for President Obama’s Organizing for Action (OFA) project induce more guilt than your average Jewish mother, according to a New York Observer reporter.

Kara Smoke, who covers media for the trendy publication, jokingly tweeted on Monday, “‘Kara, I know this doesn’t mean you don’t care:’ the subject lines from @BarackObama are better at guilt triping than any Jewish relative.”

Smoke was specifically referring to a mass solicitation email sent on Monday before an OFA fundraising deadline. The personalized message suggested a donation of $5 or more and was headlined with the shame inducing line, “I know this doesn’t mean you don’t care.”

“It looks like you haven’t chipped in yet,” read the email. “I know that doesn’t mean you don’t care about fighting for change — we can’t all make a donation every time a fundraising deadline rolls around… A donation of any amount before our midnight deadline goes a long way — will you chip in?”

Monday was also the last day for Americans to sign up for Obama’s new health care program. A source confirmed to Fox News on Tuesday that on its last day of enrollment the program was on track to see 7 million sign-ups for insurance coverage.
