Israel Chief Scientist to Host Innovation Conference for Arab, Bedouin, Circassian Communities

Hundreds of entrepreneurs and technology executives from Israel’s Arab, Bedouin and Circassian Communities are expected to take part in a conference on Tuesday held by Israel’s Chief Scientist Avi Hasson, where a team led by Economy Minister Naftali Bennett will unveil a plan to promote innovation within minority sectors in Israel.
In a statement, the Economy Ministry said the measures include “innovative forms of assistance aimed at helping companies, start-ups and entrepreneurs get on board the high-tech innovation train.”
The conference is a joint venture of Israeli Industry Center for Research and Development (MATIMOP ), the Office of the Chief Scientist in the Ministry of Economy (OCS), the Authority for the Economic Development of the Arab, Bedouin and Circassian Sectors in the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Nazareth Business Incubator Center and MATI- Nazareth Business Development Center.
Among the speakers at the event will be entrepreneurs Dr. Amal Ayoub, CEO of Metallo Therapy, and Ibrahim Bashir, CEO & Owner, Rushdi Food Industries, as well as Professor Hossam Haik, of the Chemical Engineering Department and Nanotechnology Institute, at Technion University.
Ali Salam, Mayor of Nazareth, and Ayman Saif, Director of the Economic Development Authority of Minority Sectors in the Prime Minister’s Office, will also speak at the conference.
