Israel Rips United Nations for Denying Abduction of Israeli Teens (VIDEO)

Israel’s mission at the United Nations on Thursday ripped the international body as hypocritical, “0ut of touch and out of line” for claiming in had “no information to confirm” the abduction of three Israeli teens last Thursday.

In a video posted to YouTube, the mission pointed to statements from the White House, ABC News, and even Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas confirming the abduction before admonishing, “The UN is out of touch, out of line and out of time.”

Initially, the UN issued a statement condemning the kidnappings, saying, “The Secretary-General condemns the abduction on 12 June of three Israeli students, including two minors, in the West Bank. He expresses his solidarity with the families of the abducted and calls for their immediate release.”

But shortly afterwards the comments were walked back by the Secretary-General’s spokesperson Farhan Haq who answered a question from a journalist by asserting, “We have no information to confirm an abduction.”

Popular blogger Elder of Ziyon pointed out that even terror group Hamas, whom Israel has blamed for the kidnapping, acknowledged the crime.

The blogger asserted that the turnabout at the UN may have come as a result of “pressure from the Arab world.”

Elder of Ziyon said, “The UN is happy to split hairs when Palestinian Arabs might be blamed for something but hands out blanket condemnations of Israel for breakfast.”

Meanwhile, on YouTube, Israel encouraged viewers to, “Share this video and expose this hypocrisy now!”

The three Israeli youths, Gilad Shaar, 19, Eyal Yifrach, 16, and Naftali Frankel, 16, were abducted at a hitchhiking post late at night night. Thousands of Israeli troops are currently combing through Palestinian Authority controlled towns and villages searching for the abductees.

The UN has become THE bedrock of hypocrisy, lawLESSness, Unreality, Inequity, Inequality in HUMAN RIGHTS, and Amorality!!

  • All the offices and officers of that stupid institution called u.n. should be packed and mailed to sudan instead of having a good time in New York.

  • Israel should cut out electricity and water going to Gaza
.Put her under siege till they don’t release the teens.
The Israelis should not trust Abbas either, because he
is the main problem for the abduction – teaming up with
Hamas. And who knows, maybe he even knows where the teens
are and he is just playing the game of good cop and bad cop.

WHY DOES ANYONE CONSIDER THAT THE UN IS ANYTHING BUT OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE WORLD. IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE. WHEN IT BEGAN LIFE THE CONFLICT WAS AN EAST VERSES WEST (RUSSIA/CHINA AND THE US/EUROPE)NOW IT IS ARAB NATIONS VERSES ISRAEL AND WILL SHORTLY BE THE WORLD VERSES ISRAEL. THE UN HAS NEVER BEEN AN ORGANIZATION THAT HAS, IN MY OPINION, BEEN OF ANY USE EXCEPT IN TRYING TO LOOK AFTER THE REFUGEES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, IN OTHER WORDS WHEN IT DOES ITS BIT AS A CHARITY ORGANIZER

    • Sonia Willats

And organizer of the perpetual refugee status of the “Palastinian” people. It was created to bring a speedy end to conflicts, but, instead, it is the Israeli bashing-tool of note, with no pretension at fairness, balance, justice etc. If it had anything to give the world, Syria would not be where it is today; nor Iraq being ‘eaten up.’

A BULLY IS ONLY AS BIG AND POWERFUL AS THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO ARE PREPARED TO BOW TO HIM

  • Why is there still a UNO ????
It is time to get out from it.
It is not because Hitler and Mussolini did it from SDN that UNO does merit to be compared to SDN…! and to remain staying at its fanciful Assembly…
    It is a bad joke…

  • If the UN was disbanded tomorrow no one would ever tell the difference and the US would save a lot of money, plus we can take the UN headquarters and make it into a nice apartment complex.

  • Euripides Smythe

Good for Israel for putting out the truth. As for the U.N., unfortunately its moral authority died with Dag Hammarskjold when his plane went down in Angola in 1960 or so. RIP, Dag, we miss you.

  • The UN is out of touch with most things happening in the world. That is one reason the United States counts on the UN for so many things. Ergo, the United States is out of touch.

    • Au contraire, Allan. The UN and the U.S. are not at all out of touch. They’re out of their minds with irrational and blind Jew-hatred and will continue to promote the annihilation of Israel, and by default the global Jewish community. My personal recommendation is communicate to all Jews to purchase as many high-powered weapons as possible, and keep them locked and loaded.

  • What can one expect from the Arab dis-United Nation. Verily a Tower of Babel that was. Its meaning has been lost in the dim dim past. It has become a mouthpiece for the most reactionary regimes of this world and most antagonistic to its own member Israel, whilst boot licking the vile Arab regimes that surround it. Has the UN any meaning, I think not. It bankroles Hamas a criminal organisation & readily denies the kidnapping of Israelis thus becoming complicit.

    • Sonia Willats

Agreed. It is a ‘tower of Babel’. Well put, as always, Fred. To deny the kidnappings is beneath contempt. The time will come when one must simply dismiss the UN for the whore of Babylon it fronts and has become.

  • The U N is Islam orientated and I have long since advocated the English speaking nations, UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand should leave the U N and let it go bankrupt and stew in its own juice.

    • I agree with Tony Rice Why does everyone pander to the Arab nations.
I am sure that oil can be found in many other places because that seems to be the only reason they are needed.
They have the funds to run themselves into the ground.

  • The U.N. is a joke ! How can anybody take them seriously anymore ? The same goes for the Nobel Peace Prize after they gave it to Arafat. They’re a bunch of monkey brain idiots.

What are they going to do … ” Condemn ” Israel again ? The word has no meaning anymore with them. They’ve turned it into an inane commentary, as they are themselves.

I just laugh at them like the monkeys they are now.

    Shabbat Shalom everybody.

    • Not forgetting the Nobel peace prize that was awarded to the most undeserving person in the world, after arafat, namely, Obama.

    • They are not what you call them friend, they are totally deceived by lucifer and his demons .Wisdom only comes from the PRINCE of peace YESHUA HAMASHIACH♥

  • What is there to say about the do nothing UN. Spelled backwards NU? Its nothing but a free paid membership in a good country club. Most of the member nations delegates have never used bathrooms or showers or in-door plumbing. And you expect them to do something, especially for Israel, their sworn enemy! Gimme a break. Its the most expensive whorehouse in the world.

  • Fritz Kohlhaas

It’s time to rid of this utterly corrupt institution!!!

  • The question is WHY?

What is the cause of their non committal stance? The effects partly from the comments above are obvious.

Which organisation has enough credibility with Israel to effectively act as mediator between them and the Palestinians?

    • citizenstat

What a weasel comment! Your ethics probably disappeared about the same time as your backbone!

  • @Julian
    Thanks for the full quote!!!

  • Bill Markson

The U.N. is a terrorist organization.

    • HERE,HERE, I agree the UN is a terror organization!
And the USA should throw the UN out of the country.

  • THEY’RE NOT OUT OF TOUCH….THEY’RE OUT OF TIME!!!
It is about time they were disbanded…they are a totally useless organization good for nothing but collecting money and doing the aa-raabs bidding!

  • Bernard Ross

stop whining about Israel and EU and throw them out of Israel

  • UN=UNITED NAZIS
Israel should get out of the UN and expell all UN people out of Israel at once

  • The UN needs to disbanded. It has descended into whether the Islamofasisct OIC, the Non Alignment Movement, China, and Russia tell it to do. There full of nothing but hatred and rage and never have they ever lifted there hand to prevent a war or genocide. Time for it go the way of the League of Nations.

  • The UN must be indicted for crimes against human rights, and for being accomplices in the abduction of these 3 Jewish children. It must then be disbanded, and what’s left of it should go to where most of its repulsive members come from these days, any of the 50 + islamic countries.

  • Someone needs to fly a plane into their building and see how much they like it.

  • The UN is not out of touch.

The UN is not out of line.

The UN is the world’s largest whorehouse – with flags out front.

  • But the ‘palestinians’ are real.

UN is out of touch….with reality.

  • Julian Clovelley

This article misquotes by ommission and I would draw your attention to the transcript of the press interview concerned. the Deputy Spokesperson does not deny that the boys are missing, and he calls for their safe return. The framework is entirely whether the UN itself has information relating to the abduction and could add anything to present knowledge of the event:

“Question: Following on the late Saturday condemnation by the Secretary-General of the abduction of three Israelis, has there been any attempt by the UN office in Jerusalem, East Jerusalem to help Israelis find the abductees and mediate between two sides?

Deputy Spokesman: Well, we stand ready to help as needed and as requested. If we have a request from the Israeli authorities for their help in this matter, of course we’re ready to provide that help as needed.

Question: Follow-up on that, how has the United Nations established that they have been abducted and whether they were abducted by adversary elements?

Deputy Spokesman: We have no information to confirm an abduction.

Question: But you condemned abduction when you don’t know whether there is abduction or not?

Deputy Spokesman: No, look back at the statement. If any parties can be helpful for the safe return of these boys, of these three youths, that would be appreciated. But in terms of that, we have no confirmation that we can independently make about an abduction.

Question: But there… are you ruling out any… probably criminal activity within the Occupied Territories?

Deputy Spokesman: We would have to see. I don’t want to prejudge the information that may come out. We do not, like I said, we don’t have any information, specific information about the nature of what’s happened. We are simply hoping for their safe return.

Question: But you condemned the abduction?

Deputy Spokesman: I would just refer you to the language of the statement”

To say that one does not have information about an event is in no way to deny that event. The UN Spokesman makes it perfectly clear he (and the UN) accepts that they are missing and probably in danger. The UN is not there to make any absolute statement without direct evidence. For the reply the reporter might want he is talking to the wrong body in its official capacity.

    • Biodegradable

Any information on who that reporter was? He or she seems to want a response that casts doubts on whether it was indeed an abduction.

    • I would refer appeasers like you to Pastor Niemoller’s statement:

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_they_came_...

And no, I didn’t bother to read your full screed.

    • Julian, why are you ALWAYS TROLLING AND POSTING VERY LONG COMMENTS supposedly defending jews but they always are a bit off, aren’t they? THE UN LIED, they HAVE information, it is an outright lie to say they don’t period. The Whitehouse said it, Abbas said it, they have constructive and inquiry notice legally speaking so stop lying.

      • Emanuel: You are absolutely right about Mr. Clovelley. He is always here and always anti Israel. It seems to me that he is hired. Palestinians are openly celebrating the kidnapping of Jewish boys, Palestinian kids are posing with their 3 fingers up all over the Internet, but UN has no evidence even when Hamas is confirming the abduction.

        • Personally, I find Mr. Clovelly’s comments well thought out and entirely sensible. Though I do not always agree with everything he writes, he is patently not anti-Israel.

      • Julian Clovelley

I truly wish I did not find long comments so necessary but I find the level of misinformation – as I believe in this article – very disturbing, and frankly downright dangerous for any minority community. Frequently the length – as in this case – is caused by just how much information the article writer left out.

I am quite sure that the Right Wing political hacks that seem to be the real ones trolling Algemeiner and the Jewish community generally would love to portray me as anti-Israel – but I am not. Nothing I say would not appear in internal Israeli mainstream dissent, and I freely admit to supporting the UN’s attitude towards the Settlements

The Right Wing trollig is all too obviously about internal American politics and not about the interests of either Israel or the Jewish community. It is an attempt to divide Democrat voters from the party they have traditionally supported. The attacks on Kerry and Obama are particularly ridiculous and of that nature and the attacks on the United Nations belong more within the ambit of looney armed militias. History tells me that in the late twenties and early thirties the Fascists used similar tactics and many in the Jewish community actually fell for them. Particularly, I understand ,in Italy

To any one used to blogs and forums it is patently obvious Algemeiner like any other media outlet is a target for astroturfers at the forum level and people with concealed agendas at the article level. If you think about it, unlike attacks on the Guardian I see here, and find reprehensible, I have never attacked Algemeiner per se. I find it an excellent news source that has informed me on a large number of matters. All debate is transitory in nature – I believe there is room for it

By the way Inna my last pay packet was over twenty five years ago and that was for a very basic Public Service job.

    • either lies by omission, misspeaking or by playing with words, they are still done with the focused intent to deceive! We are sick of a non-ethical political correctness world, which is in itself based on lies. A lie, is a lie, is a lie! Who out there does not understand that???

    • Shalom-Hillel

Julian, in this case I do understand the point of your comment.
But what is your continual interest in Jews actually about?

      • Julian Clovelley

The barriers – if such exist – are yours, my friend, not mine. But thank you for asking.

Let me ask you a question in return. If you sit at a table sharing coffee or a meal, do you see Gentiles and Jews, or just friends, people who are all just like yourself, but often from cultures that are vastly different and endlessly fascinating?

It’s all about sharing, really. A few days ago my son was welcomed to a sabbath meal by some of his own Jewish friends. I am happy that what my father passed on to me in lack of prejudice, I believe to have passed on to him, and that the community see that in him as “friend”. In welcoming him they welcomed me, and my father before me, who died some thirty years ago.

We are all one family you know – even science now can prove that. The barriers are our culturally inherited backwardness, mostly nonsense.

Invite such a friend to your own sabbath meal once in a while. Keep a spare hat for that.

        • Sonia Willats

Julian. Inter-faith is one thing. Constructive denial of truth is another. I grew up under apartheid. I LOATHED IT! One of my best friends is Muslim – we really trust each other – secular, of course!

BUT I HAVE THE DISTINCT IMPRESSION THAT YOU ARE A SECULAR HUMANIST, LIBERALIST, POST-MODERNIST. THAT YOU DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE G-D OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND JACOB. YOU DON’T SEE THAT ISRAEL HAS A RIGHT TO EXIST WITHIN THE BORDERS OF HER HISTORIC HOMELAND.

THE PEOPLE WHO SIT ON THIS WEBSITE LARGELY DO BELIEVE, AND SEE THE NEED TO DEFEND ISRAEL, WHO IS SO CONSTANTLY AND UNFAIRLY ATTACKED.

AND YOU CONSTANTLY SUPPORT THE LIE; THE ATTACK. ISRAEL DOES NOT HATE. IF YOU READ THE SCRIPTURES, YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT. IF YOU SAW HOW THE SCRIPTURES ARE APPLIED E.G. TREATING THE ENEMY WHO IS PERSECUTING YOU WITHIN, AND THREATENING YOUR BORDERS WITHOUT, IN YOUR HOSPITALS.

You are trying to support the lie with your long screeds and we don’t buy it! IT IS YOU WHO NEED TO CHANGE. READ THE BIBLE AND PRAY BEFORE AND AFTER YOU DO IT. I CONSISTENTLY NOTE THAT SECULAR HUMANISTS HAVE HEARTS OF STONE AND WILY TONGUES.

          • Julian Clovelley

Sonia – I believe the State of Israel has a right to exist, but I think the “religious” justifications I see used for it are really reflections and interpolations of nineteenth century nationalism. Israel has far greater grounds for validity in modern times – especially in the aftermath to two major wars and the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. You might need more justification, I don’t, and I am unconvinced it is on offer anyway in a form that can expect universal acclamation and agreement. Religions, like ideologies, are notoriously divisive

If you think I am wrong in accepting the judgements and decisions that brough the modern State of Israel into being I apologise. I would rather do that than seek a chosen myth to justify it instead, and I am unsure that such a search would be successful. My view of Israel’s right to exist leads me to ask how we can assist non Jewish people to share the region on an equal basis that takes into account the historical pragmatic decision for Partition, but still enables them to share the potential prosperity of the lands involved

The form that religions take are, in my opinion, not the results of “revelations” but rather of very down to earth political and social decisions, often evolved over decades and centuries, that are reflected in the documents handed down to us. The Nicene Creed is an obvious Christian example, but I think we can trace a similar pattern in the writing of the Gospels themselves.

What I apply to my birth religion I apply to all religions. We need to see beyond those religions to the humanity underlying all of them, a humanity that sees the use of violence and kidnapping against the innocent as simply bad behaviour, cruel, pain inflicting, and counter productive to any genuine positive relationship with any G-d, real or imagined.

I can’t get beyond the fact that there are innocent persons – in this case innocent members of the next generation, hurt scared and suffering – and on both sides.

That is unacceptable enough, on both sides, to me.

        • Shalom-Hillel

It’s not about having friends of different backgrounds; I do — I’m open to all people. You think you understand the situation in the Mideast and you think you understand Jewish “nationalism” and its origin. But you don’t. “He who knows not and knows not he knows not.”

Remember the black people who used to wear T-shirts that said, “it’s a black thing — you just don’t get it”? Well, there are things you don’t get about Jews. I have to admit it takes gall to walk into a forum of Jews and in essence tell them that you KNOW and they need to listen to you and there will be peace. The point is you don’t know. You have a perspective that comes from your own limited experience and consciousness. You presume too much when you come here to tell us — yes, there is an US — what we are to do in our Jewish homeland.

Israel can NOT give up Judea and Samaria. It will leave Israel too narrow and vulnerable. It would put an Iran proxy or an ISIS on its border, but that’s not your concern is it? You apparently haven’t thought out that part. Maybe you just don’t care. Do you care what happens to Jordan? If Israel leaves the “West Bank” the king of Jordan will fall. Israel must remain there. Please spread your largesse where it can do more good — some Muslim forums where you can suggest they stop massacring Christians.

    • U.N. hack Farhan Haq and Julian Clovelley plan to start a new religious school at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza:

Its Lefty founders will name it ‘Yeshiva Korach Kohen’

    • Thank you for that clarification.

    • Janet Clifford

‘Misquotes by Omission?’ Your attempt to defend the indefensible UN denial of ABDUCTION/KIDNAP because it does not have ‘direct evidence’ is a sin of commission.

      • Julian Clovelley

        Try reading it again Janet

“If any parties can be helpful for the safe return of these boys, of these three youths, that would be appreciated. But in terms of that, we have no confirmation that we can independently make about an abduction.”

There is no denial that the boys are missing only a clarification in a response to the question asked that the UN has no independent source of information

There being at the time no claim of responsibility ,surely the UN spokesman is correct in leaving the opportunity open for those holding or hiding the boys to return them.

The UN does not take sides – It is a forum for world opinion and united action – It is neither the source of a particular faction, nor the source for a particular opinion

The spokesman spoke clearly within the context of the Charter of the United Nations – for example Article 34 “The Security Council may investigate any dispute, or any situation which might lead to international friction or give rise to a dispute, in order to determine whether the continuance of the dispute or situation is likely to endanger the maintenance of international peace and security.”

If the article writer had done his homework he would have read the spokesman’s answer within the context of the Charter and not drawn what are inflammatory and inaccurate conclusions

To the person who asks “Why is the United Nations even around” I would refer him to the Charter and to the abundant literature on the subject.

    • Simon Barlev

Thank you, Julian. Great proof that the UN wasn’t at fault, but the totally aggressive Israeli reps.

  • Why is the UN even around? It is an Islamofascist league of nations. Is it just another institution to babysit Arab hatred and rage so that is doesn’t manifest itself in more evil forms? Well That has worked out well

In famously liberal Hollywood, such a development has left mouths agape and set tongues a wagging.
