The United States Department of State called for “restraint” following the discovery of the bodies of three Israeli teens kidnapped on their way home from school on June 12th.

Asked shortly after the news was announced if the U.S. message remained one of calling for restraint, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters: “It certainly does,” Reuters reported.

Pskai added that in conversations with both sides over the past weeks Washington has been “encouraging security cooperation, that the Israelis and the Palestinians continue to work with one another on that, and we certainly would continue to urge that… in spite of, obviously, the tragedy and the enormous pain on the ground.”

The IDF on Monday discovered the bodies of the three abducted teens — Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Shaar and Naftali Frankel — following extensive searches.

The bodies were found near Hebron in an area north of the community of Telem. The families of the abducted teens have been notified.
