Alert guards on Jerusalem’s Light Rail line thwarted an attempted stabbing Sunday morning, at the heavily-traveled Mahane Yehuda open air market.
A guard saw a young Arab male behaving in what was said to be a suspicious manner and questioned the individual, according to the 0404 website.
The suspect then pulled a knife, possibly a utility blade on the guard.
The guard, who apparently evaded the sudden stabbing attempt, wrestled the suspect to the ground and was quickly joined by other guards, who subdued the suspect.
Police quickly arrive on the scene and took the suspect in for questioning.
