Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Ron Prosor called for the “immediate” suspension of a UN spokesperson on Tuesday.

The move came as Israel is in the midst of a full-flung campaign against terror group Hamas to end rocket fire from nearby Gaza.

Prosor asked for action to be taken against Chris Gunness of UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, after the spokesman encouraged reporters to interview a professor with a history of supporting terror attacks against civilians.

In a letter to Pierre Krähenbühl, UNRWA’s Commissioner-General, Prosor said, “Gunness, yet again abused his position by calling on reporters to interview Dr. Mads Gilbert, an outspoken proponent of terrorist attacks against civilians. In September 2001, Dr. Gilbert explicitly supported the ‘moral right’ of Al-Qaeda to perpetrate the 9/11 terrorist attacks against thousands of American civilians.”

In the letter, seen by The Algemeiner, Prosor included the text of a recent Twitter post from Gunness encouraging reporters to speak to Gilbert: “Great interviewee @ Shifa Hosp Gaza right now Prof Mads Gilbert +4790878740 call him 4 fatality & cas figs and atoms RT.”

“Rather than denouncing Hamas’s targeting of innocent civilians, Mr. Gunness is shamelessly promoting an individual who shares Hamas’s morally reprehensible convictions,” Prosor said in his letter. “Hamas, an internationally recognized terrorist organization, deliberately embeds its military operations in residential areas and exploits its own civilian population as human shields. These actions constitute war crimes and should be condemned in no uncertain terms. In failing to do so, Mr. Gunness is ignoring Hamas’s abuse of the civilian population in Gaza and acting in opposition to UNRWA’s mandate.”

Prosor also accused Gunness of displaying “an ongoing pattern of anti-Israel bias,” adding, “he has abused his position to promote incitement against Israel and present a one-sided view of reality.”

Prosor said that on Monday, after Hamas fired a rocket at an electrical plant in Ashkelon cutting off power to 70,000 Gazans, “Mr. Gunness tweeted that the lights had gone out, conveniently omitting Hamas’s responsibility.”

“Israel supports UNRWA’s important humanitarian work; however, actions that encourage incitement undermine this work. UNRWA staff members have repeatedly failed to abide by the UN’s principles of neutrality and impartiality,” Prosor said.

“I ask that you immediately suspend Mr. Gunness while you investigate the matter. The integrity and impartiality of the UN demands that this matter be addressed expediently.”

His crying over the children of Gaza reminds me of Asma Assad of Syria crying for the children of Gaza earlier. With over 20000 children killed in Syria, these now seem like hypocritical crocodile tears coming from her, especially when no one is crying for the children of Syria.

  • Us non Jews must realise that anti semitism has been with humanity for 3500 years, since the days of Moses. And it will be so for the next 3500 years. Accept and live with it. Jews are better in everything in life: higher morals, more intelligent, harder working, brave fighters, etc, etc, etc. If we all lived as the Jews do, the whole world would be at peace and there would be no hunger, famine, epidemics, wars, etc, etc, etc. Best wishes to all.

    • Yonit Gefen

This is correct. My father [Jewish] used to say that his greatest wish was to read the paper for one week and see nothing about Israel.

On the one hand I appreciate your intent, On the other hand, there are things we are no good at. Assertiveness, International affairs, leveraging our strengths to get enough power to exist in this world, perceiving ourselves as others perceive us.

As Tevye said in Fiddler on the roof.. Pick somebody else.. I am sick sick or being singled out for good for bad and just want to be left alone to live my life, as many Jews in Israel and elsewhere are

  • abdou cole

how do the Israeli govt. sleep at night after killing all those innocent children. dont these blood thirsty beast have children of their own and how would you feel if it was your child that died in that attack.

    • Yonit Gefen

How do western ideologues that unwilling to see either Palestinians or Israelis as anything but stereotypes portrayed on your media. Shame on you. Do you personally know any Palestinians or Israelis. [ I do ]

People who call people of a country “bloodthirsty beasts” are a threat capable of genocide. Your efforts to portray Jews as people who don’t care about children say more about you than anybody else

  • Sabrina Neylon

I’m not siding with either side, regardless human life and Innocent people are being destroyed. Its disgusting how someone so concerned with alleged actions choices to put effort into suspending someone instead working to solve this terrible dispute. I’m losing faith in what the UN stands for.

  • Howie Day

even if hamas were terrorists and Israel bombs never killed civilians …. not!!!
then still, how is interviewing terrorists is a crime … i don’t get Israel’s logic, you got to hear from both sides to see the big image and decide by your self who is what.
unless your confident people aren’t going to buy your story coz it contradicts with human logic …. then i think shutting the other side is Israel’s only option … not for long though.

  • John

What is terrible is reading tired, one-sided discussions of issues where no one steps out of their comfort bubble. How about everyone here try and look at these issues from an objective position? Would that be so difficult? We can frame every conflict according to personal self-interests; but true strength comes from seeking holistic solutions.

The problem here is religion, period. Muslims are god’s chosen people. Jews are god’s chosen people. Christians are god’s chosen people. Mormons are god’s chosen people. At least in the Judeo-Christian sense, anyone following those religions believes what I’ve said- yet none of the true believers (even you, that’s ignoring what’s being said here) will step back and question god or religion in general, mainly because you lack the objective faculties to do so. It’s what’s best for you, just like in the marketplace where the lowest cost item is what’s best for you, analogously ignoring the plight of the person that might have produced what you buy.

The person I respect in this discussion is the one that admits this, rather than hiding behind popular opinion or tradition. While I view you highly for your willingness to admit arrogance and selfishness; I without question ask for you to either admit that you’re the damage to the world and change, or put an end to yourself. For either of these actions my respect is transformed into love because it means that you truly want peace for yourself and your neighbors.

Call me an anti-Semite, that’s fine. Call me an Islamophobe, that’s fine. Call me someone full of hate, and I will concur, because I don’t think hate is a bad thing when correctly placed. I hate your greed, arrogance, idolization, mythology, fear, hate, murder, rape, torture, lies, all to protect what you believe and ensure that you continue to think it right. Though I embrace this hate, I prefer to define my life by positives and seek them. I hope the latter is something that anyone can appreciate, even if you hate me!

When I die, and the world continues on without a thought to my existence, I will at least appreciate that I never destroyed a child’s life due to my upbringing: I chose my own path rather than the one that someone told me that I should follow (Imam, pastor, priest, Cohen, etc). I will smile because I can empathize with how the parents of murdered children feel, as I know how I feel for my own child (be it whether it is the parent of a child on an Israeli bus or at an Afghan wedding). I will sigh because I know that I spent my life seeking love: of objective truth, fairness, strangers, friends, enemies, and that which I cannot understand. I also honestly believe that if there is a god, they will appreciate my feeling toward the world more than that of any believer, because I want what is right and not what serves me the most. I hope they will then make me burn for an eternity because I at least had the strength to reject their authority and they are to weak to accept it.

    • Roda

      Never a truer word…..

    • Rod

(whew) been reading the past few weeks below your post, and you are correct, John. _Lots_ of hate here, a regular cesspool of hatred. Respect what you said though, mate. Religions are the source of likely 90%+ of human hatred. How many millions of people in history were murdered for someone’s religious fanaticism? Oh yeah, I do admit to arrogance and selfishness, though I constantly aspire to enlightened humanism. No need to love me, John. As self-destruction is not in my best interest, I shall remain about a while even if only to be a tiny thorn to the Koch Bros! Ah, and as to that eternal briquet thing? Not to worry, the sun is still millions of years away from nova. Cheers.

    • figment

thank you. we must return to our hearts and remember that we are all brothers and sisters on this planet.. stop believing the lies. find love within yourself and realise it is also within each of your fellow beings. it connects us all..

  • Mrs H

Israel is so cowardly … scared of a few tears.. or it that its propaganda machine is fast crumbling?

The number of fascist sounding voices on this comment threat is quite astonishing.

  • Michael
  • Ghud

The responses here are horrible and even more, they are sick. Unless you stop being biased and start seeing Palestinians as human beings as you are, your racism will not end. Sick sick responses about a very humanitarian reaction. You got to be so in denial to write these responses. Israelis are in denial (except the few with brain that are not washed) but one day I hope they will wake up.

  • Spongedocks

I have a guess that many at the UN get lots of side money from nefarious types to produce reports, influence media and return weapons found to Hamas…follow the money.

  • LiveHamm

People in this comment section sit in here complaining about anti-semmitism, a word now so often used about every critizism against Israel that it is hard to really decipher the meaning of it. At the same time you paint an incredibly racist picture of Muslims (or in your word “muzzies”). Such statements and claims cannot stand unchallendged.

I am a native Norwegian living in Oslo, and the claim that you’re making that we have “no go-zones” in our city is absolute nonsense (Albeit our goverment have recently banned begging, mostly because of the influx of Romani people to Oslo).

And how in the world can you call a doctor who travels to Gaza to operate on injured civilians a “hate doctor”? The Norwegian organization “With Israel For Peace” have in the recent days been trying to put forward their message of hate that Dr. Gilbert is a liar, pointing to comments he has made in different interviews. They claimed that the number of dead children he has been reporting is too high. This was all debunked. And luckily the Norwegian people were not convinced. And what would it have mattered?

The thruth is: Palestininan civilians are being killed on a grand scale. Israelis are not. The exact numbers matter less. If you view Hamas as a terrorist organization, at least 70% of the victims are civilians. You seem to have lost sight of that.

    • ewan

agree! and i have to add, being anti-israel does not equate to being anti-semitic.

    • Naz

      Well said!

      • Ray

Thank you, LiveHamm. It is a tragedy that so many are blinded by hatred that they enthusiastically defend that which should be condemned. Once I was a young man thrilled that Israel was able to defend itself against the warring Arab states in 1967. In the many years since I am saddened that Israel has lost it’s way.

  • Ron Blower

There’s ONLY ONE place UNRWA has plans for those so-called “Refugees” to go… and that’s in “Palestine”.

Until…Unless, The West will have the gumption to wipe out the Rulers of Jordan and forcibly install the Camps there because I doubt anyone will find another Muslim Nation to take ANY.

Over the decades to come: Those Camps are just going to get bigger and Bigger and BIGGER…

    • h.t.

Unless we kill them fast enough! WHOOO LOOK AT THOSE BOMBS GO!

    • Saywhaaat?

Palestine…ermmm I think you mean Gaza…Palestine is a pile if ruble and/or Israel at the moment.

    • Gina Lorenzo

Hmm. The Palestinians are warned to evacuate? Where should they go? Well of course…evacuate so that the Israeli people can take over Gaza.

  • AKUS

Gunness was responsible for the false claim that Israel hit a school during Cast Lead, and had desroyed warehouses full of food.

Mad Mad Gilbert was guilty of posting fauxtographs of himself with purportedly dead children.

The two make a lovely pair.

    • Pat Murphy

      Where’s the evidence

    • Cal

Sorry but that claim wasn’t false at all.

      • indio007

        Why? because you said so?

      • George

Actually it was in the Goldstone report

That wasn’t a false claim, UN officially reported it and shame on you for supporting it.

  • David

The United Nations said Thursday that it had discovered 20 rockets hidden in a vacant school in Gaza during a regular inspection on Wednesday. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency, which assists Palestinian refugees, called the use of a school to hide weaponry a “flagrant violation” of international law protecting civilians.

“This incident, which is the first of its kind in Gaza, endangered civilians including staff and put at risk UNRWA’s vital mission to assist and protect Palestine refugees in Gaza,” the agency said in a statement.

  • As a pensioner, I have witnessed the decline and uneven handedness of the United Nations over the years on numbers of issues. Because of this they have become much less relevant. It is also very noticeable that the organisation promotes anti Semitic views.

  • Israel Lover

Way past time for Israel and the US to leave that vacuous monument to hypocrisy and anti-Semitism. The only thing that unites the UN is their hatred for Jews, decency, and democracy

  • The UNWRA is the only U.N. group that’s specifically for philistines. No other group has their own private refugee fund

  • Turn the UN into a homeless shelter so that at least it does some good for the world. Wait a minute–if we do that, the entire New York City prostitution industry will be devastated.

    • Amen to that.

    • Richard Finn

Let Donald Trump develop it, most likely 2-3 M $ condos. Turn the large halls into basketball courts. Just think if there are no more foreign slobs who crowd the streets with their Bemers

    Sara Sachar

You hit the nail on the head.
The world hates Jews because Jews are a moral people. Jews have created so much for humanity. Jew hatred is jealousy.
    What started this hatred?
I read somewhere, the New Testament was written about 4oo years after Christ’s death, by people, not G-D. So the story /lies that Jews killed Christ, was written by some idiot who wanted to blame the Jews, whereas, Jews never crucified anyone. The Romens crucified people, Jews living under Rome, were afraid to even speak out. JEWS NEVER KILLED CHRIST. IT IS THE FIRST LIE OF THE WORLD.

    • kRis, If I may..
Long before the Romans and long before the New Testament,
the Jews and the Philistines AKA Arabs now “Muslims’ have been at war over the same thing, land, Israel’s land.
Not only the obvious in their respective cases but, as with Hitler and his Nazi’s, I propose that the underlying reason for both of these particular enemies of the Jews is this:
if there are no Jews, who will worship the G-d of Israel?
If there is no Israel how would all the prophecies ( both in the old and new Testaments ) become a reality as Israel’s rebirth and her remnant of her people return and once again to become a nation, a mighty nation?
The war is to me, one of the ultimate good over evil.
Who would have believed that Israel would be the only nation on earth to have been reborn after the ‘scattering’ and slaughters of the European Jews that began with Rome over 2,000 years ago?
Have faith, every word pre told is coming true.

      • Joseph

To correct your correction. The scattering began with the Assyrians and Babylon. Which is an even more amazing story. Because up until about the period of Israel there was a giant thriving community of 2 million Jews living for centuries as Dhimma in the Ottoman Caliphate. Today all those Jews were killed or are in Israel or France, there is not one known Jewish citizen of Iraq (Babylon) for the first time in 2700 years think about that!!! There are Jews of Iraqi descent over 100,000 survivors in Israel, but not one survived the Islamic genocide. Further to make the story even more amazing, America Israels closest friend found in 1993 thousands of Jewish ritual items Sadam superstitiously and cynically had one of his palces. Some ancient, but also importantly some showing a daily thriving Hebrew litterary activity and contribution to Iraq 200 and 100 years ago (again like the rest of the Middle East, they killed all those Jews and the world did not even record it at all).

    • aj stylez

m sory but it looks that u dont know any thing about history its written in holy scriptures that these were joews who kiled christ u are just shame less people with no homeland u people are just thank less and ignorent species living on this earth

    • Christian

heheheheh yes but they have already killed millions by now. and they go on.

    • nomads

Kris Kristian… you are like pontuis pilate. You washed your hand. Maybe romans killed Christ because you don’t have the balls to do so, but Jews made the false accusations that led to the cruxifiction. No wonder why Hitler wanted to annihilate Jews. Jews are hypocrite.

    • James

Israel is a moral State bombing schools with children inside. Good point. I guess Israel is not better than the cancer it’s trying to root out.
Look out: I prefer to use the word “Israel” instead of “Jews” since I do know that not all the Jews agree with Israel’s government.
Jews don’t deserve to be represented by Benjamin “Kill’em all” Netanyahu.

    • HelenG

The ‘world’ does not hate Jews. Jews are as good as – and as bad as – any other religious or ethnic group. They are mostly good, decent people who are considerate of their neighbours on a local, national and global scale. The ‘world’ however, hates Nazism, Zionism, fascism, supremacists who have no trace of religious morality attaching to them.

    • Jonathan

The New Testament teaches that G-d put Jesus to death for our sins.

“Jesus was delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of G-d.” Acts 2:23

“Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers were gathered together, against the L-rd and against his Anointed — for truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Your hand and Your plan had predestined to take place.” Acts 4:25

      And the Prophets as well:

“Yet it was the will of the L-rd to crush him; He has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for sin.” Isaiah 53:10

  • The mere existence of UNWRA is a disgrace, there is a United Nations Organization for Refugees but UNWRA has a unique status. Its employees are mostly Palestinians and Jew-haters like Guness who is frequently interviewed on the BBC for instance, as if he were totally neutral and fair. UNWRA organises summer camps for children to train them in terrorist tactics, video of this is all over the internet! And yet it is allowed to continue and, as other commentators have pointed out, is funded mostly by the USA. It is about time the Palestinians – who are not refugees at all – were supervised by a different organisation, one that does not incite them to violence. Good for Ron Prossor!

    • Roy Badcock

People like you make me sick with your constant droning on about Jew haters with your persecution complex,no word on the killing of innocent Women & Children from you is there, WHY because people like you see no value in the Palestinian people because to you they are all terrorists rather than normal people like the rest of us who want to live their lives in peace with their Families. The world is finally waking up to the real facts and the myths peddled by Israel inc their right to defend itself which is no more than a smokescreen of human rights abuses, as the slaughtering of innocent Women & Children have proven through mass bombings even in Israeli designated safe areas.
FACT: Hamas rockets have killed 3 innocent civilians during this conflict plus 60 soldiers have died since the offensive.
Israel have killed nearly 2000 innocent civilians, including 100s of Children, sorry but those figures don’t lie they show who is the real aggressors are.
Israel have raided and raped the Palestinian people of their land for too long to remember and they are the persecuted victims and always have been, sadly they will continue to see Israel as their enemy because of this
I am no Jew hater nor pro Palestinian but a realist who does not like to see images of dead and injured Women & Children, none of which are Israeli!!

Yes it should be dissolved. In any case the U.S. should stop funding the UNRWA.

    • Reform School

Knowing one’s enemies is the basis of national defense.
They constantly imply that this is the Jewnited States. However, alert minds may see the US is one-third MUSLIM.
UNRWA is a simple, rejuggled Muslim codename for NU WAR.

  • Pam

U.S. is practically the sole funder of UNRWA, and that funding is currently up for review! We should all contact our representatives to demand that UNRWA be defunded. Some brave woman – I’m sorry, I forgot her name – finally captured on video scenes of the UNRWA schools indoctrinating Palestinian children to hate Jews and take up jihad against Israel.

    • Mark Zucker

Anyone who hasn’t seen Pierre Rehov’s documentaries on the schools of hate funded by the UN and his other documentaries, should take a look on Rehov has done amazing work on documenting the true ugly face of the PLO and silent, and largely ignored by the world, exodus of Jews from Arab countries where they were forced to leave many years ago as refugees and the Arab Muslim attack on Christians throughout the Middle East. Rehov has his own section on He is a citizen of France and Israel and besides his daring videos in which he has risked his life to expose the PLO and the UN’s role in the war against Israel he is a novelist.

Can we expect anything better from this disgusting hate policy? UNWRA should be disbanded.
Is US still supplying money to Fatah/Hamas?

Is the world aware of how much money those savage bastards leaders of Hamas have stolen and enriched themselves>?
      Some have become billionaires.
They have stolen money which was meant to help the needy.
Of course they want the war to continue. They benefit from the money sent to help
If they fire more rockets, Israel must send in the troops and clear them out. Find their leaders, and hang them.

  • Bella

The existence of UNWRA is the biggest obstacle to Israeli-Arab peace.
It’s self-perpetuating and teaches hatred, employs anti-Israel activists.
It grows exponentially because it defines offspring as refugees.
It’s a cash cow with a budget many times that of UNHCR.
UNHCR looks after about 40M individuals currently while UNWRA, with about 5M to look after has a budget about many times that of UNHCR.

    While this cash cow exists

  • Julian Clovelley

This is inaccurate reporting. Irrespective of the Norwegian doctor’s views as quoted elswhere the main point is that UNWRA had difficulty entering Gaza but the doctor had been there himself. This was how he was reported elsewhere. It was legitimate to interview him as an observer – but of course within context of expressed views:

“Dr. Mads Gilbert, a Norwegian who was allowed into Gaza last week to give emergency medical aid, and who has worked in many conflict zones, said the situation was the worst he had seen.

The hospital lacked everything, he said: monitors, anesthesia, surgical equipment, heaters and spare parts. Israeli bombing nearby blew out windows, and like the rest of Gaza, here the severely limited fuel supplies were running low.”

I have seen unmoderated posts on Algemeiner that advocate nuclear attack on civilian populations – If you want to set a standard then at least abide by it.

Gilbert in fact described his own remarks in the aftermath of 9/11 as “unwise and ill considered” and stressed that he is completely agaisnt the use of terror against civilians.

The context of his remarks is earlier worth quoting “The attack on New York did not come as a surprise with the politics the West has followed the last decades. I am upset by the terrorist attack, but I am at least as upset over the suffering that the US has caused. It is in this context that 5000 dead has to be seen. If the U.S. government has a legitimate right to bomb and kill civilians in Iraq, the oppressed has a moral right to attack the U.S. with the weapons they may create as well. Dead civilians are the same whether they are Americans, Palestinians or Iraqis.”

I find his original statement indeed ill considered and ambiguous in its analysis of the morality of the use of violence. It is rather like the rhetoric of anti war protestors in the days of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament – such rhetoric as “if the American’s have the right to launch a nuclear attack on Moscow then the Russians have the same right to launch a nuclear attack onNew York”

In fact NEITHER side had such right – but for some thirty years we had to live with a belief on the part of so many that such justification actually existed. reprisal is a war crime – and so it should be.

    • shloime

what a bad joke! the bombing of iraq came AFTER 9/11, for those who believe in such fairy tales as cause and effect. (not big on the curriculum in arab schools, it would seem.) the professional apologists for arab terrorism will twist any and all facts to present the illegitimati as somehow being justified, and the victims of their barbarism as somehow “asking for it”.

there’s a very warm place in the afterlife, reserved especially for them!

    • H Thorp

UNWRA had difficulty entering Gaza, you claim? How exactlY can this be so,when it has been constantly WITHIN Gaza for 65 years now, and the MAJORITY of its employees are actually Gazans, LIVING in Gaza? You are simply making excuses for Guiness.

    • Larry A Singleton

Julian Clovelley….What a scumbag. I’m sorry but that’s the most intelligent word I can come up with to describe this person.

“It is in this context that 5000 dead has to be seen. If the U.S. government has a legitimate right to bomb and kill civilians in Iraq, the oppressed has a moral right to attack the U.S. with the weapons they may create as well.”

This is about as despicable a statement as I’ve read in a long time.

I’m just a dumb-ass construction worker. Fortunately, unlike this moron I try to stay informed on the issues. I’ve spent 30 years going to city and county meetings honing those skills. I also love to read.

I finally finished up Joel Fishman’s report “The Big Lie”. There’s another one I’m wading through, Egyptian Emigres in the Levant…” by Prof. Kressel & Dr. Aharoni. Or as I’ve retitled it; “What Arab Claim to Palestine”. It doesn’t take a great effort to learn the facts. And the fact is most of what is said about Israel by Muslims is a lie.

Idiots like this forget the basics. And the basics are these: Islam is a disease. And Muslims are the symptom. Every other word out of a Muslims mouth is a lie and the words between those are damned lies.

If you want to understand the mentality of a person who has no problem with 5000 thousand Americans being murdered or who would probably dance in the streets with her Palestinian pals celebrating the slaughter of a family of Jews sleeping in their beds, read a few books. Start with Horowitz’ Indoctrination U. and The Professors. Listen very carefully: Get Christina Hoff Sommer’s The War Against Boys who, next to Jonah Goldberg, kicks some major Liberal Fascist ass. Get This Book.

I’m just sickened to see how Jew-Hatred has become almost fashionable today. And don’t be fooled; this has nothing to do with “Zionism”. Ideas like this are for idiots. The gullible.

A few years ago I happened to read two books almost back to back. The Haj by Leon Uris and Because They Hate by Brigitte Gabrielle. After these two books I was off to the races. I had already read The Looming Tower but it didn’t have much of an affect on me. Because of these two books I decided to address this “Islam thing” and make a good faith effort to understand it. So I sent away for some Islamic “holy” books.

I’ll stop here and simply submit a “poser” I created after reading an article on jihad I found in a Summarized Bukhari I’d ordered:

“we may describe it, (jihad), as a surgeon’s lancet and not a butcher’s knife.” Mahmoud Mohammed Taha (I’m sure there are about 200 million dead people that would disagree with him. And this from the guy who’s been called the Mahatma Ghandi of Islam.)

About two years ago I ordered some reading material, including Taha’s “Second Message”, and a “study” Koran to find out what this “Islam thing” was all about. When I was sixteen I was chanting nam yo ho renge kyo to a piece of paper, (gahonzen?), having NO idea what I was doing. A few years later, hair down to my ass and a knapsack on my back, I hitchhiked cross country, got saved in Nashville Tenn. and went to live on a Christian farm in Mansfield Ohio. (Not the prison.) My gra’mom called me a “seeker”. As I said, there came a time recently when I wanted to understand this “religion of peace”. It was Humaid’s article on jihad I found in my Summarized Bukhari that decided “things” for me.

If Islam is the “religion of peace”, where in Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid’s article on jihad can I find the equivalent of “Love Thy Neighbor” and “good will toward men”? And explain its prominence, and significance almost as an “Introduction”, in a book that’s described as “the most authentic and true among the books of the Prophet”: My Summarized Sahih Al-Bukhari. Also address “jihad” as it’s defined in Reliance of the Traveller and answer the same question. (Chapter O-9.0: Jihad O: “Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada signifying warfare to establish the religion.” And explain why the “greater” jihad is only mentioned once here and never seen again in this “Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law”.)

Compare Humaid’s “jihad” and Emmet Fox’ Sermon on the Mount and tell me which one best represents a spirit of Love and “compassion”.

Lastly; would you pick Sheikh bin Humaid to sit on a Human Rights Commission? (That’s a trick question by the way.)

Maybe you can throw in an explanation of the Jews are “monkeys, pigs and rats” on page 656 and the part where Mo says, “if somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him” on page 613 in the chapter on Jihad.

Also, explain why Humaid’s “jihad” shouldn’t be “Exhibit A” in refuting the “religion of peace” claim.

I’ve posted this many times to many Muslims and have yet to get a single response. Well, I did receive a response from some goofball named “Dr.” Mohsen El-Guindy asking me to read his books. Instead I downloaded a bunch of his articles. Which were pure rants. An Imam, sidestepped it by telling me I had to “study Islam” to gain a greater understanding.

Jihad in the Qur’an and Sunnah by ‘Sheikh Abdullâh bin Muhammad bin Humaid ),

I would strongly suggest this social retard, this mental deficit, expand her knowledge. At the same time asking herself, “what reasonable, intelligent person, after understanding the fraud that this religion is, (see Slavery, Terrorism and Islam below and the chapter where it just destroys Islam and the plagiarized rip off of Hebrew and Christianity that it obviously is), and comparing it to other religions and especially how it TREATS other religions would opt for what is just one big massive, dysfunctional, evil cult?”

I really truly made an effort to understand this “religion of peace”. And like Joan Peters, (whose book arrived in the mail today! Yeehaaa!), who started out writing an article in defense of Palestinian refugees, found that the more she peeled the layers of Islam away. The more lies she uncovered.

I really would think a rational person, like Joan did, would see the utter fraud that is the Palestinian “refugees” when compared to the Jewish refugees who are really, truly a product of ethnic cleansing, not this “inversion of reality” that is the total BS that is the Palestinian “right of return” I suggest she read some articles with an open mind like “Are the Negev Bedouin an Indigenous People” by Yahel, Kark and Frantzman. Or “The Smoking Gun” by Gottheil. Or How many Palestinan Arab Refugees Were Ther? By Efraim Karsh.

Buy Bostom’s Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism and read the accounts of the massacres and slaughter of Jews who lived in “peace and harmony with their Arab brothers in an Arab/Jewish ‘Golden Age’ “…. …by the MUSLIMS themselves.

      Read this account:

Mads Gilbert has also made insane unsupportable allegations against Israel not worth repeating here, but Julian would never mention those, or why conditions in Gaza hospitals are so poor that have nothing to do with Israel and everything to do with Hamas.

      • Liliane Abergel

Larry, thank you for your commentary. It was a pleasure to read an article that was very well researched and intelligent. You really went out of your way to understand all the givens in this many folds tragedy. It’s a breath of fresh air and gives me hope for the future. I’ll be 67 next month and my life as a Jew has been always fraught with some unseen fear. My parents “left” Egypt in 1948 when they started to see the ‘handwriting on the wall ‘. I lived in France until I was 19, then few years in Israel. When my parents decided to leave France for the USA, I joined them, wanting to be with my family. I know many like me, wandering Jews, who went from country to country just to feel safe … but, there is no safety for a Jew anywhere in this World BUT in Israel. Now, with everything else, I’m starting to feel unsafe right here in the US! I read too many accounts about Homeland Security and even the CIA with way too many Muslims holding high positions. The Obama’s administration is scaring me to death! In my Brooklyn neighborhood (very Jewish) we are starting to see women in full niqab (only the eyes are visible. Today, I read about a pro-palestinian protest in Atlanta, Georgia where a hamas supporter got in the face of one of the 2 Israel supporters there, cursing and threatening, it was on camera and he sent it to Tom Trenton. It was scary and awful. All our synagogues and Jewish centers are barricaded. Holiday time is even worse because we walk to shul. What is going to happen here? Will I need to leave this country after 43 years? I love the US, raised my son here, my grandkids were born here …

The hospital lacked EVERYTHING? The PA has been given billions upon billions…where are their hospitals, schools, etc.? Nowhere because all they do is invest in weapons and cultivate a society of death. The hospitals in Israel treat everyone including the very terrorists that want to destroy them. Shame on all the apologists for Islamic terrorism…if all of this exists becauyse of poverty then Haiti would be the most violent place on the planet. These people are in the position they are in because their own people prefered to keep them in camps and poverty and blame Israel rather than take care of their own. Where is the outrage over all the Jews that were forced from arab lands? Where is the outrage when Christians are killed in lands that they have lived in for centuries? Show me freedom of the press, or religion, in any of the countries that the world feels so sorry for?

  • Scott

Why exactly is anyone in the UN? It’s perhaps one of the most despicable organizations on the planet. It’s been hijacked by third world fascists. The entire organization is nothing more than a free and well paid lunch for the “elite” (think far left wing and far right wing; mostly illegitimate governments). It’s high time that the real democracies will real human rights start another organization.

How many Arab/Islamic countries are represented at the UN?
      What is the total membership?
It appears as though the Arab/Islamic states rule this despicable organisation. It is not United. It creates war and hatred.

Why does the UN and member countries blame Israel when Israel defends itself against Islamic terrorism?
Why is the world news not reporting on the Shia./Sunni wars, how many have been killed in those Islamic wars?
Muslims hate Muslims. So they hate everyone else.
to take the heat off Islam/c wars, the world focuses on Israel defending herself.

Lets look at history. For thousands of years, Rome, Egypt, Spain , Germany, etc, tried to destroy the Jews. These are all history. The Jews have survived and will always survive.
      Eventually, Islam will become history.
When the Jewish Messiah arrives, the world will turn to Judaism

      • Hi

        Religion is hate.

      • nomads

Kris.. When Hamas killed israeli soldiers, its terrorism and when israeli killed women, children and elders, its a self defense. You are expecting the messiah you already killed.

      • Elgato

Kris. The Messiah doesn’t exist so he will never come. But, following your belief: insofar as the Messiah _would_ ever have existed, your people killed him, as nomads already remarked. Even worse: the reason of the hostilities between Muslems and Jews is exactly that the Muslems consider Jews to be traitors of their god, because of the golden calf etc, including the killing of a phrophet. I would not expect too much from this so-called Messiah, least of all approval of what your people have been doing lately… Sjaloom.

  • UNlikely

How many members of the UN would pass the test of even getting close to complying with all the commitments contained in the UN Charter of Human rights – only a few.
Most would be disqualified out of hand.

  • Bernard Ross

wouldn’t it be easier to have a couple of thugs with baseball bats go around and break his legs?

  • DocReality

    The U.N. is a farce.
    America doesn’t care.
Israel knows it, does care and will act accordingly.

  • shloime

unrwa has admitted, on the record, that it knowingly employs card-carrying members of terrorist groups. it also uses school textbooks that idolize terrorism.

the problem is not just one person at unrwa, but the whole self-perpetuating mess. for 65 years, unrwa has failed to fulfill its mandate of resettling “the refugees from palestine” (its ONLY task – unrwa is NOT a general-purpose agency, despite its name), and now it’s time to shut it down and throw all the professional freeloaders, like gunness, off the gravy train.

  • Eric R.

The UNRWA officials should be considered terrorists, and treated accordingly by the IDF.

    • This is precisely the type of obscene and grotesque sentiment that inspired the Nazi holocaust. It is no accident them that Naomi Wolf has described the genocide currently being carried out in Gaza by the so called IDF as a ‘holocaust.’ The civilized world is at last finding a voice that will not be quieted either by Zionist threats or cheap shots about anti semitism. Aplogists for the apartheid regime in Israel sound increasingly hysterical with the likes of Posnor and others sounding like the trained in the Goebbels School of Propaganda.

      • Elly

How dare you call israel an apartheid state. You sound ignorant. Have you ever been there? Do you know that there are Israeli Muslim Arabs livings free in Israel? There are Ethiopians living free in Israel. There are Christians living free in Israel. They have the full rights that the Jews have. Did you even know this? In gaza and most of the rest of the Arab world there are no Jews and Christians are being persecuted. If you want to believe in hateful things then at least educate yourself and get the facts.

  • Kathleen

I saw this in the comments on the Washington Post site:

“The difference in both sides is simple: Israel uses rockets to protect its population. Hamas uses its population to protect its rockets. “

  • The integrity and impartiality of the UN demands that this matter be addressed expediently

  • Old Dogface

I think that Israel should send a thank you note to the UN and make it as visible as possible thru the msm.
This note should thank the UN for giving Israel the chance to re evaluate the target list against Hammas.

that should get some under wears in a knot, lol
