In an unprecedented gesture of hostility towards Israel, the Jordanian Parliament on Wednesday opened a cabinet meeting with a moment of silence for the two Palestinian terrorists who slaughtered five Israelis in a Jerusalem synagogue a day earlier, Israel’s NRG News reported.

Lower House Speaker, Atef Tarawneh, then went on to recite a prayer in memory of the “martyrs,” Uday and Rassan Abu-Jamal, killed by Israeli police as they shot and hacked to death four rabbis at prayer and a police officer who later succumbed to his wounds.

Along with the sixty second memorial, one MP demanded the governing body compose a letter condemning what he called “the Zionist attacks on Jerusalem and its inhabitants after a ‘heroic act’ committed by the two east Jerusalem residents.”

The attackers rampaged through the small hall, one opening fire at point-blank range on the gathered men, while the second hacked at them with a butcher’s meat cleaver, as they stood wrapped in religious garments and deep in silent prayer.

MP Assaf Shoubaki moved to congratulate members of the Spanish parliament, who, on Tuesday – just hours after the attack – decided in a symbolic vote, to recognize an independent Palestinian state.

Spain’s ruling Popular Party rejected unilateral recognition of Palestinian statehood and insisted that recognition could only come through peace talks with Israel.

The resolution was put forward by the opposition Socialist Workers’ Party last month.

Shoubaki asked the European Union and the United Nations to join the decision, stand by the Palestinian people, and to strengthen ties with them.

The Spanish vote followed similar declarative gestures by the British, Irish and Swedish parliaments, calling on Israel and the Palestinians to work towards a two-state solution. Meanwhile, the French National Assembly is expected to vote on a similar proposal at the end of the month.

On Nov. 13, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Amman with King Abdullah and American Secretary of State John Kerry in a failed bid to quell violence in Jerusalem.

On Nov. 5, Jordan recalled its ambassador, in the first such move since its 1994 peace treaty with Israel, in the wake of protests by thousands of Jordanians, who called for abrogating the agreement over what they claimed were Israeli “violations” on the Temple Mount complex.

“Why are you keeping the embassy of the Jews? It should be demolished with everyone in it,” opposition Muslim Brotherhood chief, Sheikh Hamam, said at the rally, according to Haaretz.

Netanyahu and Abdullah also met secretly in Amman on Nov. 3, in hopes of finding a way to lower tensions between Arabs and Jews in Jerusalem.

  • Let the arab muslims bathe in napalm, and then let nuclear suns shine över muslim territories. Problem solved.

  • Maybe if you cry louder to the nations someone might care? Or are you looking for approval to play victim. Past due time to act, and stop looking for help or appeasement from the nations like that faithless, corrupt leftist traitor occupying Israel’s PM’s office.

  • Is Israel still going to sell gas/oil to them via new pipeline.? Cut it off. We know why they back the killers, THEY ARE MORE AFRAID IF THEM THAN THAN THEY ARE OF ISRAEL.

  • An open letter to King Abdullah of Jordan.
You are an intelligent and progressive ruler. You are proving a worthy heir to an illustrious father. You, as your father before you, show great compassion and concern for the Palestinians and the Israelis. The Palestinians are now a majority of the populace of your kingdom.
You can, if you wish, resolve the Israeli/Palestine conflict and, with one bold stroke, also enhance the prospects for the peace and prosperity of the entire Middle East. It behooves you to make a noble gesture that would have you go down in history as a great benefactor of mankind.
You should undertake to proclaim the Establishment of the Confederation of the Greater Holy Land aimed at ensuring the aspired for peace of the Cradle of Civilization.
The world would encourage, support and aid in the financing of the establishment of the Confederation of the Greater Holy Land (no relinquishing of sovereignty) consisting of the sovereign Democratic Kingdom of Palestine with Amman as its capital (in the present Jordanian boundaries) a sovereign Israel with Jerusalem as its capital and the Territories (in their present boundaries) with the population as presently composed enjoying confederation citizenship and embracing whichever cultural, religious or political adherence they deem fit.
In keeping with such a magnanimous gesture you could, in good conscience, call on Egypt’s President to volunteer a hefty section of the barren Sinai Peninsula to be split, equally, between the State of Israel and Palestinian State.
The world will readily applaud reason emanating from the Holy Land and peace being heralded from Jerusalem, Amman and Cairo.

Pausing for silence is a lame excuse to cover the real issues, Jordanians in Israel should all be allowed to return to Jordan, an end the resistance against an established democratic state that is thriving in world economics and technology.

The Jordanians occupying Israel are a danger to themselves and those around, its like a kindergarten classroom with no teachers or discretion, chaos……

The educational structure is non existent, the living conditions for those on the bottom are a disgrace to their King, who should welcome his people and end this evil stance against Israel.

What will eventually happen, especially with acts portrayed last week, Israel will be forced to level every ounce to the ground, its like an ants pile, when you hit it, they scatter, at that point its difficult to distinguish who is a terrorist and who is a victim of Hamas.

      Shalom all

    • it will never happen Mr Hassan

  • I do hope that Bibi’s stance is no more Mr Nice Guy, enough is enough

    • I supported Bibi for years. However, lately he is such a pussy. He tries to appease to that idiot Hussein Obaba and the anti-Semite Kerry, than he kisses the ring of Jordan’s king, than he is worried what the useless antisemitic UN will say, than he sees that the terrorist have no respect for him because he shows weakness, than he goes and looses the war to Hamas (at least political), and after our people and slathered in Jerusalem (our capital) he goes and demolishes the terrorist house. I am sorry is that your response Bibi. what a heck are you afraid? Don’t worry wheat the world is thinking about you and jews, they hate us anyway. Don;t think for a moment that Iran is not going to have a nuclear weapon, because they are. So what aqre you waiting for? You should bomb the hell out of Iran and also take care of the israeli arabs. This arabs are a major treat. They are not afraid in our country Israel to start killing people in jerusalem and Tel aviv and everywhere. You know what , let’s deport those bastards to Gaza and then once there next time there is a war with Hamas(and there will be next time) just go there, send the troops, give them the free hand to FINALLY do their job, don’t worry about Hussein Obama and his idiots, and just destroy those terrorists, kill them all including the leaders. As much as I hate the russians, you should Bibi do what they do, when there is a treat they do not ask permission they just kill off the treat. You should do the same and then you will go into history as a great leader of Israel, otherwise you are just another problem. Israel needs now like never before a leader and not wait for the world to condem what the arabs do because the world will never do that. Godo luck.

  • Save, O HASHEM, for the devout one is no more, for truthful peoplw have vanished from mankind. Each man speaks untruth to his neighbor; a lip of smooth talk, with an insincere heart do they speak. May HASHEM excise all lips of smooth talk, the tongue which speaks boastfully. Those who have said, Because of our tongues we shall prevail, our lips are with us, who is master over us? Because of the plundering of the poor, because of the cry of the needy–Now I will arise! HASHEM will say. I will grant safety, He will speak regarding him. The words of HASHEM are pure words; like purified silver, clear to the world, refined sevenfold. You, HASHEM, will guard them, You will preserve each one forever from such a generation, [in which] the wicked walk on every side, when baseness is exalted among the sons of men.

  • There are many easy political points to pick among Swedish, British and Spanish Muslim citizens. Recognizing Palestine – regardless of the fact that the Arabs don’t recognize Israel – practically guarantees the local Muslim vote. The European politicians should pick their friends more carefully. One day they will otherwise have their own MPs who mourn terrorists and openly call for the destruction of Israel.

  • Te Arabs do not want peace with Israel.
Israel should expel every ‘palestinian” and declare “MUSLIM REIN” JUST LIKE THAT ARCH TERRORIST ABBAS WANTS TO MAKE A PA STATE JUDENREIN

Israel must now take over the Temple Mount, on which the Muslims desecrated the holiest site of the Jews by building their ugly mosques on Jewish holy Temple Mount.

Why does the world not wake up and see who the Arabs/Musims are?
They will wake up, when it is too late.
So the brutal murder of Rabbis in Jerusalem is regarded as “heroic”

It will come about, when the Christians are being slaughtered by the Muslim terrorists.
Has the Christian world not woken up,. when churches are destroyed, Christians murdereed, all in the name of Islam?

ISIS which is a Muslim group, will kill every Christian who comes in their way.
But not just kill, they willcut every Christian’s head off.

And the Christian world supports evil.

Wake up, Christan world. God will curse every one of you who is against his people, Israel.
Beware of the tzunamis, the great storms, the droughts, diseases like ebola etc, the huge earth quakes.

I PRAY THAT GOD ACTS NOW.

  • With corrections:

Jordon IS the Palestinian State, with more than half the population being of that same mix (See: http://www.meforum.org/3121/jordan-is-palestinian). Jordan was a gifted state to the Arabs by the British and was a premature act to alter the British Mandate and to prejudice any further future division of the Mandate to largely favor Arab populations post Ottoman domination.

Jordan has benefited from all agreements between themselves and Israel and by the relative calm between the two countries after Jordan’s decision to join the Arab nations in attacking Israel in 1967. The Palestinian refugees have never been a Jordanian problem because the Arab block has made sure to pressure the world into downplaying their own rejection of the partition of what remained after Jordan had been stripped away for the Arabs.

The wars conducted by the Arabs against Israel and the abuse of the refugees by the Arabs who use them as political pawns in terror operations against Israel, now extending into many decades, necessitated a theology of hate and incitement against the Jews which is growing to this day with children being propagandized in schools and Mosques.

The Palestinians have been useful terrorists to the King(s) of Jordan to take the weight off the Hussein dynasty and place all that responsibility of the plight of the Arab refugees on Israel’s shoulders. So Israel not only had to build a state for fleeing Jews who were brutally condemned and expelled from Arab countries, they also had to find a working arrangement with Arabs who were/are being taught to hate Jews and build terror groups with mandates to cleanse Israel of Jews.

Now we see the Jordanians celebrating the butchery of the most heinous crime against the Jewish people in quite some time. Do they really want to kill all peace with Israel and Jewish people? Why would Jordan want to destroy peace at a time when ISIS_ISIL also wants to destroy Jordan like they have done in Syria and Iraq? Why do they want to extend the Islamic genocide into Israel by converting the “Palestinians” into an even more evil form of terrorism than they already are as Hamas terrorists… into agents of ISIS? Do they want to make Israel (and Jordan) into a western suburb of ISIS? How can any human beings praise the carnage against Jews in Israel, in Jerusalem, in the capital of the Jews from time immemorial? Has the entire Islamic Middle East gone mad? Has Europe gone back to the days of Nazism – this time acquiescing to another Holocaust at the hands of Islamists who they must know do not want to stop at a Caliphate contained by Syria and Iraq but want to extend it into Europe too? Does Europe now sanction barbarity? Are they trying to impress their European Islamists of just how anti-Semitic they can be in an attempt to save themselves? As with Nazism, there is no way to appease.

If Jordan’ King reads these pages, I hope that he and his “government” realize that the reversion to this deplorable state of moral turpitude is disgusting and unacceptable – it is barbaric and inhuman. Those who have kept peace for many years must maintain peace but also maintain a mutual respect. That respect requires a departure from the anti-Semitism we see in the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, Fatah, Hezbollah, Iran, Al Qaeda, ISIS – that respect is what differentiates beasts from humans. There is a fine line between the insanity of Islamism and the humanity of those who can manage to get along with others and follow the 10 commandments which I think Muslims have also adopted in limited and circuitous ways from the Jewish people- now is the time to follow the best passages of your books, not the worst.

Some additional troops in the Golan Heights may be reassuring, especially since Hezbollah has made some interesting statements of late. An ounce of prevention and all that.

  • Let’s see how happy they will be when ISIS take over their country!

  • The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is the historical physical homeland of the Palestinians. Israel need to once and for all declare itself a Jewish state with Jerusalem in total as its capitol. “Palestinians” living in Judea and Samaria with any criminal record or connection no matter how small to any terrorist organization or aiding and abetting an enemy of the state of Israel to be deported to Jordan…that includes Abbas et al. A heavily fortified and mined DMZ between Israel and Jordan is a must as IS will soon sweep over a weak Jordanian military.

Warning to Iran. Any attempt at interference by it or its proxies will result in the destruction of their key cities.

Ultimately Israel is on its own. It must develop the military capability to defend itself without dependance on any other nation. Obama is an anomaly but he is a dangerous enemy of Israel. There are many good Christians in America who would come to the aid of Israel if called upon.

Islamic dignity. Do not forget to hand out the sweets Mr. Tarawneh.

Have you found some streets to name after them?

  • Dear King Abdullah,

I understand the need for you to satisfy your population. After all, based on the demographics, you truly are the King of Palestine. As you consider whether to return your ambassador, versus abrogating a treaty, give thought that the day you choose the latter, you should also direct your Jordanian employees, the Islamic Trust (Waqf) for the Temple Mount, to evacuate the area.

The Waqf is there solely through the (misguided) generosity of Moshe Dayan. Jordanian forces had invaded Israel and conquered parts of Judea and Samaria, which you retained for a mere 19 years, and Dayan’s foolish gift was his attempt to maintain quiet.
The same rules of war which your father relied on to justify his invasion once, he tried to rely on twice, but the last time that attempt resulted in the recapture of Israeli land — a situation that has continued for the last 47 years.

One last observation: Until the moment your father personally revoked their citizenship, over 95% of the current Arab population of Judea and Samaria were Jordanians! That’s who they were; that’s who they are; and that’s who they will always be. It is your fear of your majority population, on both sides of the river, that makes you cower in your bed.

  • Peace remains Israel’s objective despite its dim prospects. The Arab street is not interested. In action and words it always conveys the opposite. Israel cannot change the dynamic and recognition of the Palestine State by perfidious Europeans breeds escalating violence. Is there hope that a new US administration may someday recognise that its thus far futile peace efforts should be directed at changing the minds of the Arab street starting with its leaders?

  • A two state solution. Over Israel’s and every Jew’s dead bodies

  • “Disgusting” does not adequately describe the behavior of the Lebanon allegedly intelligent big whigs. It is one thing to condemn Israelis any way they wish, BUT to praise the behavior of savages wielding axes, knives and other barbaric weapons upon victims is to display a willingness to encourage more barbarism.
The additionally worse aspect is the lesson the Lebanese will have interpreted to their children. But what is to be expected when, as usual, the UN has nothing to say about Israeli blood being pumped by savages.

  • Muslims hacking the bodies of slaughtered rabbis to pieces:
Religion of Peace? Or the Religion of Bloody Body Pieces?

  • … and Jordan purports to be at peace with Israel.

  • No country in the world would tolerate such terror and violence.
Has the State of Israel and the Jewish people in denial just like in WWII and the resulting Holocaust of over 6 million Jews.

When you have a country or an organization that glorifies and honor terrorists and bloody murderers of innocent men, women and children indiscriminately.

Those countries and organizations must be dealt with to the full extent of the law. That makes those countries part of the problem and not part of the solution.

Since Jordan Parliament held a moment of silence for the terrorists, who killed 4 Jewish rabbis, one policeman and injured 8 during morning prayers in Jerusalem, that proves that they support and condone terrorists and they deserve ISIS, Israel must not help Jordan defend itself against ISIS or any other terrorists.
Promoting hate and violence destroys the fiber of humanity.

When will Israel realize it is time to remove the mask expose the chameleon of its real purpose and acknowledge the continued existence of threat by the Arabs unrelenting mission to destroy Israel. The soft, forgiving and conciliatory approach is not working.
Israel is holding its security and its future in its own hands. It is time to unify the nation and address the security and the total protection of its people. Take whatever action is necessary, no holds barred. World opinion be dammed, they do not live in Israel.

  • This is far worse than a slap in the face.

    Recall the ambassador immediately!!

  • Time to retake the occupied East Bank!

  • No country in the world would tolerate such terror and violence.
Has the State of Israel and the Jewish people in denial just like in WWII and the resulting Holocaust of over 6 million Jews.

  • Well, what does one expect from the original Palestinian state?

  • Israel´s ambassador in Amman should be called to stay in Jerusalem until Jordan apologizes for this unfriendly behavior.

  • Ilbert Phillips

If you look at each of the states that recommend to their government that Palestine be recognized as a state, they were all countries that persecuted their Jewish population at some point in their history.

  • The world lives a lie…lie…lie..lie…Israel does all
that it can to Help the Pals…the Pals do all that they
can to Destroy Israel..and the world condemns
    Israel..lie…lie…lie…..One day those who build
on their lies will have to stand on them..but, there
will be nothing for them to stand on….but their
    LIES….

  • I lived in Israel when Black September tried to take over Jordan and they would have if not for the IDF.

We saved the Hashemite kingdom and Hussein’s family and all the Bedouins from being massacred.

Arabs chose to forget their debt to Israel again and again.

May they all suffer the same fate.

  • Perhaps Israel should notify the various countries that are voting to recognize “Palestine” that they will be held accountable for the violence perpetrated in the name of their new-found ally, after all, they voted to endorse it knowing full-well that this is how “Palestinians” behave.

  • In response to this terrible insult by this little shittyy middle east monarchy to every single Jew in the world, Israel should no longer allow Jordan to control and manage the Kotel.
It’s in Israel and it should be controlled by Israel.

  • again, we voice disappointment, dismay,, anger, etc. but where does it lead…to playing the game of accepting dead jews….a Jewish leader is needed who does not talk but leads his people to kill the enemies.

  • Only Israel protects the little poseur of a “King” from assassination. Only Israel protects the faux country called Jordan from ISIS.

How typically cowardly of those “Jordanian” MPs, who absolutely know the above to be true, to crow and honk and squeal their blatherings in support of the very Arabs who call themselves Palestinian.

Those are the same Arabs, who call themselves Palestinian, that constitute 70+% of the “Jordanian” population, yet routinely have their citizenship revoked en masse, and are treated as second and third class non-citizens.

  • Hey Jordan you forgot the shameful way you handled Jeruslam when it was occupied no Jews were allowed at any of the holly places Jewish grave stones were used to pave the streets

Shame on you Jeruslem belongs to the state of Israel for ever!!! If you want a Jeruslam I know the perfect spot Amon Jordan

  • ok…so I was thinking “Israel can’t do anything about the Temple Mount because it’s administered by Jordan (right?) and they don’t want to upset them”…but now I’m thinking, so what? they’re upset anyway. and they hate us. and they will never stop hating us.

I hate to say this, but it’s time for Israel to take off the gloves and politely tell the rest of the world to go to hell. from the limp stylings of the anti-Israel Obama to the deafening silence from Europe to this pointless insult from Jordan, it’s pretty obvious that NOBODY CARES when Jews are slaughtered.

knock the darn mosque down. the Arabs already believe that’s what Israel is going to do anyway…better be damned for a wolf than a sheep, or whatever that cliche is.

A Theatrical Look at Diplomacy and the Oslo Accords (REVIEW)

Is diplomacy worthwhile, even if the end result isn’t what we hoped for? That is the question, among many others, posed by the new play Oslo, by J.T. Rogers. Making its New York debut at Lincoln Center, the play examines the secret diplomatic process that led to the historic 1993 peace accords. The character of Shimon Peres makes an appearance onstage — and he, along with Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat, tower over the proceedings. But they mainly do so in absentia. Instead, […]

JNS.org – Other than being part of the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, Sandy Koufax and Dean Kremer have something else in common: a respect for Jewish tradition. Koufax — who was recently ranked by ESPN as the best left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) history — decided not to pitch Game 1 of the 1965 World Series because the game fell on Yom Kippur. “I would do the same,” Kremer said in an interview.
