Philanthropist
Roger Hertog, one the founding partners of Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., Inc., served as the firm’s president until its combination with Alliance Capital Management in October 2000. He currently heads The Hertog Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization. Some of his numerous philanthropic pursuits – he was awarded the National Humanities Medal for philanthropy – focus on the Jewish world and the State of Israel. He is chairman of The Tikvah Fund, a private foundation that supports Jewish intellectual life in Israel and the Diaspora.
