Palestinian sources have revealed that the Palestinian Authority will be turning to the International Criminal Court in the Hague in order to request an arrest warrant for Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman for alleged “open hostility” towards Israel’s Arab minority, NRG news reported.

During an election conference last week, in which he represented his Yisrael Beitenu Party, Lieberman said that, “whoever is against us should pick up an ax and bring it down on his own head.” According to Palestinian Television, it is these statements that have prompted the Foreign Ministry of the Palestinian Authority to request the arrest warrant.

During the conference, the Foreign Minister said that, “Citizens in Israel who raise a black flag on ‘Nakba Day’, from my perspective, should leave the country.” He added that, “I am willing to give them over to Abbas with great joy.”

Last January, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas signed on to a number of international organizations, including the ICC in the Hague. At the time he pledged that “the Palestinian Authority will continue to struggle for the recognition of  a Palestinian State and Israel’s withdrawal from the West Bank.”
