Jews in North London Targeted in Drive-By Water Pistol Attacks

Several Jewish people walking in North London were “soaked” by water pistols fired from passing cars late last week, a charity working to protect British Jews revealed on Twitter.
The Community Security Trust (CST), which documents antisemitism and organizes security for the British Jewish community, received two reports of water pistol attacks against Jews and passed the information on to local police, the CST’s Director of Communications Mark Gardner told The Algemeiner on Thursday.
“This kind of incident is unusual, but certainly not unheard of,” he said.
The CST runs an incident hotline and recorded 1,168 antisemitic incidents against Britain’s Jewish population of 291,000 in 2014, compared to 535 attacks in 2013.
British Prime Minister David Cameron in March pledged $14.7 million towards the protection of Jewish schools and synagogues following a slew of terror attacks against Jewish sites in Europe over the past year.
The antisemitic attacks include January’s deadly shooting in Paris at a HyperCacher kosher supermarket, and the shooting of a Jewish security guard outside a synagogue in Copenhagen.
