Israeli Couple Hails ‘Miraculous’ Survival After Taking Wrong Turn Into Arab Neighborhood (VIDEO)

A young Israeli couple “miraculously” escaped from a Palestinian attack on their vehicle near the At-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem, Israel’s 0404 news website reported on Wednesday.
The couple, in their twenties, are residents of Beitar Illit a West Bank city just south of the capital. They were on their way to a Dead Sea resort vacation when the assault took place.
As they were traveling, Itzik Abergil, who was driving the car, suddenly realized that his navigation device was leading him into At-Tur, and he began to fear an attack. The area, on the Mount of Olives, is predominantly Arab.
“I called [the police] when I felt that I was beginning to get into trouble, but the police officer was entirely indifferent. Suddenly a rock came flying towards my face. The window was open and it missed me and slid along the rear window. A second rock hit my windshield and shattered it,” said Abergil.
“My wife sat in her seat and cried,” he continued, “and I pressed on the gas and sped away because I saw them organizing an attack – this is what I saw right in front of my eyes.”
The Abergils said they did not continue on to their hotel and canceled their vacation, saying they were grateful to still be alive.
