JNS.org – A Palestinian terrorist struck three Israeli hitchhikers with his car near the village of Shiloh in Judea and Samaria on Thursday.
Two of the victims were seriously wounded in the head and chest. They were transported to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem, where they are currently sedated and on a ventilator. The third victim suffered only light injuries and was evacuated to the Beilinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva.
Immediately after the attack, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers opened fire and struck the vehicle. After the car overturned, IDF medics pulled out the injured terrorist and provided treatment, according to paramedics.
“Responsibility for this attack falls on the prime minister and minister of defense, who are not working in a determined way to fight terror and to stop it from happening. Rather, they are doing the opposite,” said Yisrael Beiteinu party head Member of Knesset Avigdor Lieberman, the Jerusalem Post reported.
The car-ramming comes days after a firebomb attack on an Israeli couple’s car, as well as an arson attack on a Palestinian home by suspected Jewish extremists in which an 18-month-old toddler was killed. Israeli leaders swiftly condemned the attack on the Palestinian home. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it “strange” that “those who were quick to condemn terrorism against Palestinians are silent when the terrorism is directed at Jews.”
